The simple fix of running the water for hours is over and water is clear and safe to use. When the snow melts and the well people can get into my back yard is when the $$$ sign might start flying. We may have a cracked casing. Time will tell. I just hope it does not happen again. It did give me a first hand lesson on how water is filtered by nature. Jerry that water would have froze my plants instantly. Jane, Thanks.
I'm glad you have water now and hopefully nothing cost too many $$. Being with out water sure makes anyone appreciate just turning on a faucet and getting water.
Wow....you were pretty lucky it wasn't sewage backing up...will the sand cause other problems if it gets into things. Like toilets, etc. Hopefully by now you have some nice clear drinking water. I really miss our well water from when we lived in the country, it taste so much better than treated water that we have now. Good Luck...
Yikes that had to be pretty unnerving when you first saw it. Hope that they find your well sound when they comet to do the inspection in spring. When ever that is.
Terrible, just terrible. You've got lots of work ahead. And yes, thank heavens you were not washing clothes.
