Dooley, sorry you didn't get to keep this rain around. My new "larger" rain gauge is registering 1 1/4 inches of rain....plus the 1/4" we got before putting the new "larger" gauge to work means we have had 1.5 inches and it is still coming down.
Thanks for the rain, this is the most we have had in one day since last April.

    Toni

We had a thunder and lightning storm early this morning. We have not had one of those since about this time last year. Normally we have several in the spring, sometimes with tornadoes sometimes without. But not last year.

Anyway, I just checked my large rain gauge and we got a total of 3 1/2" of rain.......and I think there is still more to come later this morning.
Certainly not a drought breaker but this is a nice beginning.

Having soggy and foggy days for the past week means the firefighters have been able to get some rest. There haven't been any wildfires in the past 8 days.

I have my door open to let in some fresh air. The thermometer says it's 74F. But, the sun is shining on it so I doubt it is that warm. It was a sweat-shirt day. Not windy though, that helps. Dooley

    Hehe Toni, sun at last?

Weather has pretty much been the same now for last few days. At the moment 7 deg C / 45 deg F. I wish I had something more interesting to report but alas no :)

36 years ago on the 28th February, there was snow on the ground, the day my mum and daddy got married.

7 years ago tomorrow was a bright, very hot, sunny day, the day my darling and I got married.

Very cold in Galway as well Bugs. I am looking out the window at this very moment and a large hailstone shower is in progress. It must be close to snow at this stage. The ground is looking white already. Yummee! :D

It is very cloudy here today but warm. High was 72 yesterday and will be warm again today. Rain is back in the forecast with possible thunder showers this afternoon. Yipee!!!! I started 70 peat pots of seeds yesterday, but I'm still waiting for the herb seeds. Mostly what I started yesterday were flowers. Dooley

No rain!! Not yet anyway and it's about bedtime. It was cloudy and Phoenix was getting showers here and there, but not measurable rain. It's what we call a 12 inch rain. One drop every 12 inches. It was warm though. My daffodils are just about to bloom. You can see the yellow now. My herb seeds came today. Need more peat pots or I need to learn to make the newspaper pots. Lots of work ahead. Dooley

'The sun has got his hat on'.................. but he's covered his ears as it's still bitterly cold here today. Nice to see the sun though even if there's no heat in the air.

Hope you get some rain soon Dooley. Love the 12" rain!!!!!!! :D :D

Fingers crossed all your seeds grow well for you. :D I have 6 tiny, baby, yellow tomato plants that have just popped through the earth this morning. :smt026 I planted the seeds about ten days ago and was beginning to wonder if they were sterile.
