Rain and cool. 52 degrees this morning, since almost 24 hours ago we have gotten 2.25 inches. We are on the western edge of storms moving across the area so our rain is lighter than east of here (as usual) and the rain is off and on for us. BUT it's RAIN!!

If you want to check out what the weather radar for us looks like go to www.wfaa.com/weather click on the radar screen and look almost straight up from the W in DFW (middle of screen) to where the road going north to Denton and the side road going to the right meet. I live just a teensy bit south of there.

    :p :D

Living in the middle of the city I can't scan the horizon for the coming weather so I check the radar.

Cows? Oh, yeah, I see those whenever we go to visit my in-laws 2 hours south of here.

Modern technology is not all that accurate anyway. It's cloudy and sunny and cloudy and sunny here today. We went up to the flea market but no one was there so we came home and cleaned stuff out of the little storage trailer that needs moved. It was 27F at 7 AM and now it's about 40F. Dooley

The really large rain gauge has reached the 3" mark and rising rapidly. And the heaviest rain so far has just started. This part appears to be a providing us with a lightning show too so we will probably have to shut down the computer before long and unplug the modem and router.

We have certainly found out where the major drainage problem in the backyard is. Next dry weekend we have will be spent putting in a french drain type of system to take the rain away from the house.

Oh Toni I was hoping that you wouldn't be too badly affected. Does this mean we're going to lose your company until the storm passes? :( Let's hope it leaves your area soon. Take care. :smt052

    Howdy, I am back.
Lightning and thunder and almost an inch of rain in a little over an hour. This past hour it has been drizzly until just now, the rain is heavier again. But nothing loud and flashy out there this time so the computer is back on.

:? Im glad to hear that it is Spring in the northern hemisphere , could someone tell whoever is in charge of the weather this , as here in Dublin its cold ,cold ,cold . We seem to have settled into a pattern of about 7 or 8 degrees c. light snow showers (for about 2 minutes at time) some rain , some sunshine .Low pressure from the north ( Iceland ), low pressure from the south ( France ) , high pressure from the Atlantic , it all seems to join up here 8) Bugs

Think it's stopping here on route to you Bugs. Wish the weather would make up it's mind about what it's going to do from day to day.

4.5 inches of rain in my backyard from last Friday thru late Sunday, some areas east of us got 10-15 inches in that time, so we were very lucky in that respect.
There has not hardly been a cloud in the sky since then, some lower areas of Dallas county are still under water tho.
Our temps this week....upper 30's overnight, upper 50's during the day. Beautiful weather for yard work, but the ground is way too soggy still.

Drat! It's snowing huge snowflakes outside. We had a lot to do today. Good thing most of it got done in about a ten minute period. I came home from the library and made grilled cheese sandwiches. I had just poured a nice hot cup of tea when there was a knock on the door. It was the cableman, came to hook up the cable to the back of the house. I put Chance in her little yard and it started to drizzle so I hurried and took the clothes off the line. Cableman had to wait. Just as I came back outside the neighbor came with his endloader to move the little storage trailer. Brian had to move the fence so he could move it. So, I handled the cable and Brian handled the moving of the storage trailer. Then, after both the neighbor and the cableman had left we put up a temporary fence because we were getting wet. Now, inside and dry I watch out the window at it snowing big time. I had thought it was going to clear up and be nice. Guess that's tomorrow. Dooley
