We havent had a "real" winter" this year. The lowest it has gotten so far is 39 degrees. And that has been just three times this winter and only lasted a few hours. It averge has been 65 but for the past week its been around 73.

    Strange weather indeed.

Its been about 8 degrees c here in Dublin. The dry spell is still here but is supposed to change tonight with rain coming down from Iceland brrrrrrrrr. My garden work is picking up after the winter and now rain is forecast  I planted some 50 polyanthus for one of my customers today. They all had to be the same shade of yellow as her winter jasmine . I get strange requests. 8) Bugs

My thermometer says it's 60F outside but I'm afraid that is because the sun is shining on it right now. That's supposed to be the high temp. today. I planted my 24 pansy plants yesterday. I suppose I should go and see if the earwigs have been chewing on them. It does not get cold enough here to kill all the bugs from one year to the next year. We have an over abundant supply of bugs. I don't suppose anyone would trade bugs for plants or seeds. Dooley

Sorry Dooley I certainly wouldn't unless they were ladybirds!!!! :D

I was out all day today with my husband as he was travelling round Dundee, Perth, Auchterarder, Stirling and Falkirk checking telephone exchanges for new equipment. Gave me a chance to catch up on some reading while he was doing it. Rained all day which was a pity and now the weather reports say we may be having snow shortly. :(

Last spring we had a lot of ladybugs here. They were on everything for a few days and then they were gone. Migration? It was nice here today. It was windy for a little but it quit and it was about 68F. I walked on the treadmill for half an hour. My knees will probably complain about two in the morning. Are you sure you wouldn't like some earwigs? Anybody? Dooley

Heavy rain during the night , all the plants are looking nice and fresh. Rain is so different from watering , the plants seem to respond to a good shower .. Cold this morning about 5 degrees c , but very sunny. Should be a good gardening day 8) Bugs

NO WAY DOOLEY!!!!!!!! :smt018 I hate earwigs!! I give all my plants a :smt064 and if any earwigs fall out then I stamp on them.

The sun is shining here today but we had a bad frost last night so the pond is frozen, yet again. :( Maybe some time soon it'll be warm enough to actually get in it to clean it out but it's way too cold just now.

This week is a bit chilly with temps in the 30's (F) at night to the 50's(F) daytime.
Then winter actually will give us a glancing blow this weekend.

What a lovely lovely day today! The sky was blue, and when that freezing, howling wind dropped, it was possitively warm! I worked in one of the gardens I visit today, and it was a lovely day, made all the nicer as the snowdrops are up under the trees.

It's cloudy and windy here today. Temp. predicted about 60F. It would be nice without the wind. Dooley

The overnight low temp here was around 50 F , the rain gauge out back has about 1/4" (hopefully that is just a beginning), the wind is coming from the north now and my wind chimes are all singing merrily. The temps are falling now, could be in the lower 20's F each night thru Sunday and highs only in the 40's F.

Need to put the plastic cloches over some of the plants before it gets any colder.

Well we're still waiting for the snow the weathermen predicted for us. Severe frosts again at night but lovely sunny weather during the day. Such a pity though that we can't get on with the garden. :(
