I have three baggies with different gourd seeds in them now. The Cave Man Club seeds I just recently bought so I figured this method would be a quick way to get them started, the Bushel gourd seeds are from last year so I am just quick starting them too.
But the Birdhouse gourd seeds are from some birdhouse gourds I bought online several years ago and saved their seeds when I cleaned them out to make birdhouses, so we will see if they sprout.

    Keep us posted.

That is the reason I wondered why folks ask for fresh seed......

great job toni! i use this method alot to test my old seeds. i am very surprized at how much old seed stays viable. i still am using pepper seed from 1998 that was kept in a semi cool room and the seeds are still germinating!

i had trouble with the paper towels too petunia. i now use dampened black and white newspaper. (the ink is water based) for some reason, the roots don't stick to it. works great and is cheap! :D
