What are you reading at the moment?

I can't be too hard on Cajun Belle after 34 years I wouldn't know what to do without her.

 

I understand that as I was married to my hubby for almost 37 years .You say that, but I really didn't know how to continue my life when he died from cancer.

 

I am sorry for your loss. we recently had a man in our church lose his wife of 62 yrs. I was at a loss as what to say but since our pastor was out of town the job fell to me. The gentleman told me he had faith that he would see her again soon. I took comfort in that and maybe it will help you. GOD BLESS

 

I am currently reading 'The Green Mile' by Stephen King. I have loved all Kings work since I was a teenager, but several slipped through the net as I always assumed he only wrote horrow. I saw the movie of 'T.G.M.' a few weeks ago and loved it, so the other half got me a copy. Stephen Kings desciptions are amazing and I find I completely loose myself in the story and can almost smell the cells! next on my list, 'Rita Heyworth and the Shawshank Redemption'.

 

I just finished reading "Flags of our Fathers by James Bradley. He is the son of John Bradley who was one of the six who helped raise the flag on Iwo Jima. It tells the story of the six men. Very good. Wannabe

 

I finally finished a history book on the UK, 1600-1900 - very interesting, so I got the other two in the series and am now starting my studies back when the Romans were still setting up shop. Also still working on various tales in the Scarlet Pimpernel series by Baroness Orczy, just read "I Will Repay" (more romance in that one than most, but not for Sir Percy) and "Sir Percy Strikes Back" (excellent one with the interesting introduction of bad-guy Chauvelin's innocent daughter as a protagonist) - now working on "The Way of the Scarlet Pimpernel" which starts a bit slowly but is turning into one of the best romps yet. Great stuff.

That book sounds really good and interesting Richard. I may need to see if I can find that one. Right now I am looking at pictures. I got LIFE's 70 years of extraordinary photography. It was on the newsstand at the grocery store. Wannabe

 

I'm reading a series by Nora Roberts. Nothing heavy, I'm afraid. Morrigan's Cross, Dance of the Gods and Valley of Silence. All about vampires, sorcerer's, and witches. I'm on the last one. Dooley

 

Nothing at the moment because our Tuesday night women's group is starting a study on the book of Daniel in the next week or so.

 

I'm reading The Eldest by Christopher Paolini sequel of Eragon.

 

Sounds like everyone is reading things much more interesting than I am! I'm trying to read (and comprehend) "The Complete Idiot's Guide to the Glycemic Index" Wish me luck

My hubby and I are actually reading the same book. We had to go out and buy a second copy. It is the third book in a series by Robin Hobb. Assassin's Quest

If you like fantasy, this series is awesome!
