Have never been much of a traveler but did visit Greece and Italy in 1972. Since we are so close to Canada, have been there a few times. I just returned from a 10 day mission trip to Mexico. I prefer the good old USA.

I only had the one evening in Portsmouth as my mother had had a heart attack and the Drs. didn't expect her to make it. I flew out from Mildenhall the next day. I rode a train from Portsmouth to Mildenhall by way of London. The one thing that has stuck with me of the train ride was going through the countryside at dawn. It was fairly foggy and through the mists I could see all of these "bumps" sticking up from the ground in the fields and couldn't figure out what they were. As it got lighter the "bumps" turned into rabbits or hares. There were hundreds of them in the fields. This was in 1980 and my mother survived and lived until 2002.

I'm a home body. I've only ever been to Germany and that was when I was 10 years old!! I've never left Ontario since then, but would love to see more of Canada especially British Columbia.

When I was younger I always wanted to travel to Great Britain and Europe but never did. I did go to South Vietnam and while there to Taiwan, Thailand, Japan and Hawaii and then back to the States. I prefer staying in the states and trying to see all of them now. Wannabe

Yep the states are all different.........

The states are so different and seeing each one is just an ultimate experience......
Most folks consider a vacation ; going to the beach and play in the sand.........That doesnt nip the joy of sight seeing......
History itself is enjoyable ......Niagara falls and such things are so nice.....The Lovely Parks and celebrations in each town or city .. Many different things for everyone.....
Go see how something is made, like a motorcycle.

    Other country

A lot of folks think Texas is like a whole other country. I like the diversitty we have: pine forests in the East, rolling oak-covered hills in the center, desert & mountains way out West, flat arid grassy prairie (with canyons!) in the Northwest, coastal plains in far South, long coastline w/ beaches - pretty much everything! I cannot say I've ever seen a natural landscape I didn't like. But the green of Britain is very impressive!! My family is mostly German & I still speak it, but I like Britain best for visiting.

Or in May go visit Pella, Iowa when the tulips and windmills are in bloom.. Awesome.. lovely dutch type town set up so neatly complete with windmills.

Been daydreaming more about this while mowing on my tractor. I think I'd like to start with seeing where the Mayflower landed, and travel to the places my relatives did as they made their way west- guess there's a whole block in Boston named for one branch, great-grandparents moved out west from Maine. DH is talking about moving to Virginia for awhile after he is eligible to retire next summer, so who knows...

    Texas, Our Texas

    I love Texas too!

    Everybody stand up now:

Texas, our Texas! All hail the mighty State!
Texas, our Texas! So wonderful so great!
    Boldest and grandest, Withstanding ev'ry test;
O Empire wide and glorious, You stand supremely blest.

[Refrain] God bless you Texas! And keep you brave and strong,
That you may grow in power and worth, Thro'out the ages long.

Texas, O Texas! Your freeborn single star,
Sends out its radiance to nations near and far.
Emblem of freedom! It sets our hearts aglow,
With thoughts of San Jacinto and glorious Alamo.

    [Refrain]

Texas, dear Texas! From tyrant grip now free,
Shines forth in splendor your star of destiny!
Mother of heroes! We come your children true,
Proclaiming our allegiance, our faith, our love for you.

    [Refrain]
