I'm from Ireland but now living in Sweden. I've lived in Malta for a year and a half and have visited the US in 1994 (Boston to be exact), stopped off at all the London airports (never seeing the cities), plus Denmark is just across the water from me so I guess you could say I visit there regularly. The travel bug has left me for the moment, I'm quite content still getting used to a relatively new country :)

    Hooray......
Go travel all of you....Why wait ??? Tomorrow maybe too late!!!!!

We were out west 9 times and have no regrets. The Black Hills, Mount rushmore, colorado, kansas , you name it .. We found things we never seen, just touring by car..
Cheap way to travel.....Stay at rural motels and rent cheap......

If your car is not in good shape , rent one.. Then you can go in class.............

    Just goooooooooooooooo.

What I like about visiting other countries is not only experiencing different culture, but also seeing what day-to-day life is like. We always try to find friendly locals that like to inform us strangers about their way of living.

This makes me appreciate my own country more, and also enables me to see with a fresh view what everything we take for granted actually is worth.

I've learnt that Norway will be wonderful for most Greek women, and quite the opposite for most Greek men, for instance.

I've also found that there are big differences in the cultures of Sweden, Denmark and Norway, even though we are very close.

I remember us sitting on the veranda loathing our summer showers when a chap from Tanzania came by selling books. His first reaction to the rain was: "Oh, man, you're rich in water!" with a very envious voice... That comment has comforted me a lot through very wet spells.

I agree totally Droopy. When I go to another country I want to observe what the people are really like, not the facade sometimes put on for tourists.

The best vacations that we have had are ones that we picked out a general area of travel and then just went. No plans, research or anything. If we saw something we wanted to see we stopped and saw it. One year we went to upstate New York. At Rochester we came across the old Erie Canal and then followed it all the way back to Buffalo, NY. All on little country roads. We saw all kinds of sleepy little villages and we had a ball. One little town had 7 different churches on there town square.
