Got outside today and did my weeding aerobics. Worked up a sweat and steamed up my glasses. :D Took them off and hung them on my shirt by the ear piece. Now they are lost in the garden :-? Good thing I have an extra pair. Will search again later. Did a good job on taking on some wayward sweet woodruff and laying more cardboard. Perfect overcast warm weather for getting a few things accomplished. Still have to dig sime dandelions out of one bed. More weeding aerobics this afternoon. :D Maybe my glasses will pop out at me.

It has been a long week. We have gotten a lot done between the greenhouses and the garden.
We installed a gas line and two gas furnaces to the two greenhouses. Late last week. After the gas was turned on I was able to move everything out from the tomato house and into the big greenhouse. I have about 100 hanging baskets ready to sell, all the geraniums are in 6 packs or singles, all the pansies are blooming and ready to sell, I transplanted about 30 flats of peppers, moved all the herbs to the large house, planted up 10 combination pots, and a bunch more odd jobs. Oh, and I cooked the seeds in the greenhouse on tuesday. What a bummer. I left to go help with the blood mobile cantine and didn't realize it was supposed to get sunny. Ruined my yummy peppers, the california wonders and I think my petunias. I saw the mix from the peppers steaming when I opened the container for those.

Today after dinner we planted 6 pounds of onion sets, 8 rows of beets and 75 cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower plants in the garden.... I am tired.

I finished using the weed eater in the back yard and did both small garden areas. I tied up the big rosemary bush so we could get to the outside water faucet. I started digging two holes for the Joseph's Coat climbing rose bushes we bought when we went to buy potting soil. Why is it when you go to just buy one thing you can't come home without something to plant? Tomorrow I will finish planting the rose bushes and maybe get the geraniums and petunias planted and maybe use the weed eater along the driveway areas. I still have to think about the front yard.

Continued a little more ivy hedge hedging. Makes great mulch. Repotted half a dozen house plants and installed trellises for the three new clematis I planted around the smoke shack last fall. It will be colorfully shaded :stew1:

Michigan must have colder days and nights than the rest of the country. Last week,I planted lettuce, spinach, peas outside. Tomato seeds in peat pots. I usually start about this time and it works.

Yesterday, I planted the geraniums and petunias. Today, I planted the two climbing roses. Josephs Coats are what they are called. Then, I went in the backyard and removed a section of fence. I moved stacks of empty flower pots to the storage area. I think I have the backyard looking okay for now. I want to get some black mulch and put in the flower beds and flower pots and around the rose bushes. Still a lot of spring stuff to do out there.

Hedged almost all of the back yard perimeter. Clean up tomorrow to go on the Hugelkultur. Only have about 20 feet left in the storage area. That means reorganizing the mess behind the shed. Tomorrow.
