Went out to the lottie today and had to sludge through snow that was above the ankles. There were tracks in the snow, and I fed the birds. I also harvested two meals worth of sprouts. IO shall be eating some in less than an hour. Yummmmm.

Yesterday I turned compost and spread dung on the garden. Afterwards, I delivered firewood. Today, I will be cutting more firewood.

The snow has all melted and it is mild outside, more wooding yesterday and today. I think we had about minus 5 or 6 celsius so far this winter. The snow melts quickly on the sunny slopes, but some frigid places stay icy for weeks.

    Bird is feeling festive.
This is one of my Xmas presents. Looks like a nerf gun, but it turned out to be....... (dramatic suspense)..... a grow light!!!!
I will put it to good use!

BTW I had to wrap a big box ( a desk chair for our son) & I didn't want to waste a whole roll of paper, so I used scraps: IMG_20171225_105647.jpg IMG_20171225_095630.jpg

And finally, here is hubbie Xmas eve taking a moment to relax.

Oops. Looks like I got the order of captions to photos a little confused.

    What a super group of foto's !
Great improvisational (is that a word?) wrap job on the chair.
But....good grief--- what a big snow you have, grandma !
Good to see your man playing. How nice it would be to have a talent like that.
    Great posting, Cayu.

Feeding birds and squirrels is the only thing happening in my garden for now. The bird baths are frozen solid, it has been cold but not snow weather. BUT it is at least Winter weather!!!!

Yesterday we had 18 Celsius. I transplanted lettuces into a poly tunnel that had horse manure buried underneath to create a heating effect. I dug some new beds and enriched them with chicken manure. In the afternoon, I cut a fir tree from my neighbours garden. This morning digging and this afternoon cutting firewood.
