Willow, I had those one year on my potatoes. Never again.
Odif, I read your potato article. Now I await the seeds again. I took the spuds out early. Not as large a crop, but the heat is getting to me, so I wanted to get some things out of the way.
Sjoerd, I always enjoy translating the language of your garden into Yankee English.
    Yes, Doghouse, beautiful Lillies.
Today I only watered everything and picked a few beans. While watering tomatoes, I marveled at how many plants I have by simply rooting the suckers!

GP--I like how you propagate your toms with their suckers. You ought to have a great harvest that will last well into fall. Chapeau !

Sjoerd, when I cut off a sucker, I just cannot waste a plant! LOL
I did nothing in the garden today due to a beautiful rain. YIPPEE!
I won't have to water stuff for a few days!
    Happy gardening!

Did quite a bit of pruning of the wisterias and the overhang from next door's trees.
Consigned a rose to the bin as it had an unbelievable amount of black spot.

Promoted one of the roses from "the avenue of shame." For several weeks after being cut right down as it was doing nothing it's been on the small patio where it got more son. There's some new foliage and even some tiny buds, so it's been given a position on the main patio.

Odif, thanks. After I post this reply; I'll go read it. I harvested more cucumbers, tomorrow, if there's more, I should have enough to make a few jars of pickles.

I picked lettuce and two cucumbers for salad. The Arugula seeds were dry enough to be shelled and bottled. Washed the few potatoes I had dug up. They have been curing a few days. Mostly just puttering about.
Tossed out one potted tomato plant because it wasn't showing any inclination toward growing. Some days I enjoy just walking the gardens and looking at every plant.

Earlier today it was too hot and dry to do anything in the garden, but it's raining now, yay!
Took our cat Thor out to wander around the backyard. Was out maybe 30 minutes, finally he lay down in teh shade and started panting a little, so I scooped him up and took him in. He enjoyed it.
The other day I planted a Prince Charming butterfly bush in my side bed, and a week or so before that I pulled the ginormous catmint that kept getting flattened by the ferals, and put in some russian sage and penstemon plants. I'll post pics if I ever get around to resizing them :D

I have been busy inside and not even my usual garden walk. Maybe later. No need for watering as we had rain yesterday. First ripe tomato,
    had Blossom end rot. BUMMER!

Gave the lawn a feed of cheap soluble Wilko lawnfood and iron sulphate.

Cayuga, I'm looking forward to seeing photos of your beautiful floor. Big job, but a job well done!
Early this morning I nipped out to the garden with all three cats and picked cucumbers and squash, which will go to the food bank tomorrow. I make sure to wash off any cat hair before donating . . . .

MG, I'll be certain to take & post photos! Thanks for the encouragement.

We heard from our daughter about our home garden. She has been picking cucumbers, peas, basil, rosemary, parsley lettuce, kale & Swiss chard. She says my cucumbers have skyscraper aspirations. No tomatoes yet. The friend who is watching my com garden plot has harvested some onions, garlic and beans. No tomatoes yet there either.
