I am chomping at the bit to get out into my gardens! It is still too cold and the ground is frozen yet.
I have some tomatoes germinating inside, that will have to keep me amused a little longer.
I'm going to have another look at my seed box tonight.

Started off beautiful this morning ,walking to the end of our garden, the church with the sun through the bell tower..love it when it happens. 005.JPG 003.JPG 021.JPG
I am sure he is still growing..Lonesome is getting use to us at last..nowhere to hide at the moment unless he dives down a little..once the lilly pads are in full swing he hides under them and I guess he is glad of the shade as well...followed by a photo of a Viburnum now in flower.
Re-potted a Canna that has been in the same pot for many years..in the ground now, hoping it will flower again.

My driveway, I seem to be constantly working on it..removing grass..who ever laid it should have put a screen down first..one day we shall have to do that, as it grows faster than I can remove it....
Planted a Clematis mauve and grows around 2/3 metres so dug it into the Pot that the Canna was in...:)...

Riley, is that a rabbit’s workshop?
I think I get the point.

Didn't do anything today other than a walk around. Noticed a couple of frogs in the little pond which scurried under the rocks in the corner when I drew near. The rocks are there to let baby frogs out when they are ready to leave. I put a couple more rocks in to give them more protection.
I'm glad that I cleaned this out and put in fresh water a week ago. The frogs weren't in it then.

I spent an hour in the garden, cutting down last years asparagus stalks, and fixing the fence. It felt good to be out again!

I wet a finger and went out onto the balcony. When I returned I had the answer to my question—we plant.
Today it was toms, peas, lathyrus and peppers. The broadies are hardening-off on the balcony. It’s all going swimmingly.
We are waiting for the weather to improve so that we can make the new strawb bed ready for the april delivery.

Planted cherry and grape tomato seeds today for my own garden and the father in law. Cherry varieties are gardeners delight, sungold and black cherry.

Officially we are not allowed bonfires in France except a few named dates... the rules do change though, very typical of the French..sell incinerators but banned from using them for any garden refuse...something I can live with very easily as always was a rebel to pointlessness..is that a real word even....hey we living the French Dream..
Truth...Cold today and had other things to deal with..seeds sprouting and Spring is near...:)

I built up a tunnel for transplantation of Chinese cabbage pe tsai. I weeded an asparagus bed and weeded and watered my other tunnels. Not enough hours in the day anymore.

So far walked around the garden with our cats, one is just so much like a dog and the other one like a cat...
..Took a photo of one of our Chaenomeles not certain of the particular type, but it does have yellow berries so likely a Japanese Quince Japonica..We have three all are the same but various sizes. Prune after flowering to get another good show..

Pruning some of the old stems on some Passions flowers.just looking at the work still needed on that partly green drive way. Sun was very bright but the cold wind cuts through you, after a while my hands were frozen, garden gloves being cotton not exactly thermal so ended up putting them under the hot tap..not a good idea as it happens, Lunch, then out again... So much to do but not so much energy today....
this is feeling like a diary now...done some exciting weeding in my newest rockery..little weedy beasts, some types of weeds the roots unbelievable to get out... Popeye arms needed to be honest...the newbee weeds are a pushover though, so not all moans...:D..An hour done and enough...cuppa time..14.47..
