Got seeds for 6 varieties of Sunflowers seeds planted, Moon Flower vine seeds, Morning Glory seeds, Sweet pea (the flower) seeds are all in various pots around front and back gardens.

The Monarda and Spiderwort I ordered came yesterday so when the wind dies down some I can get them planted.
I have only made one walk through a garden center this spring but that will be rectified Friday afternoon!!

Peggy and I have moved into our one hour yard work out routine. We have been weeding and mulching around trees and such with banana leaves and tending stuff. The banana leaves make great fast composting mulch. It looks a lil messy at first but they mat down quickly.

It snowed all day yesterday, so my gardening took place indoors.
I transplanted more veggie seedlings into pots and moved some pots from the growlights to the window.
Now, we have bright, sunny skies and close to 50 for the rest of the week. I'm considering moving the rest of the seedlings to the window.
I'm also debating whether or not to start my squash seeds. Any thoughts anyone? Last frost is mid-May. I usually plant the end of May.

Ms. Kitty, your clematis will undoubtedly come back. You just broke the top growth--the roots, which really provide more growth, are just fine. If you are worried about it, you could give it a very gentle dose of nitrogen rich fertilizer. Whatever the recommended application is of the fertilizer, just do a half-application.

I weeded the strawberries and trapped three more voles.

I scraped dead leaves and pecans out of the shade bed. Got 5 new Hosta roots, 3 Prairie Spiderwort roots, divided and replanted Liriopes all over the place, put some Impatiens seeds in several pots, transplanted a bird-sewn Ligustrum, potted up two rooted Creeping Charlie cuttings.

Now I will sit and spend the rest of the day reading. Supper tonight is either leftovers or cooked by someone else in a comfy cafe somewhere.
