Odif, it is, but I can't complain too much since it has cooled the weather down nicely!

@Debkat the cucumbers might be ok, here in the UK cucumbers will go on until the first frost but they will slow down.

Pinched out the tops of the wallflowers to make them bush out. Emptied the pots that the chillies were in and use the compost to enrich the soil when I plant the polyanthus when they come in October.

Thanks for the tip, Logan. I pulled the cucumbers out since the leaves and stems were badly damaged by the hail... maybe that was a bit premature. I haven't grown cucumbers before so that is good to know for next year. I left the tomatoes though since there is quite a lot of fruit on them at the moment.

    Picked some more cherry tomatoes.
I don't grow the larger ones because they need a lot more sun to ripen.

Youngest son and his partner came this morning to collect all their furniture I'd had in the garage for six months, since they sold their home a couple of miles away from us. They'd bought a second house near their other home in the Peak District, which they've now renovated and will be using for "holiday lets." I've now been able to give it a good sort out and clean and if I've any DIY jobs I can get at my bench in the garage.
They did their best to try to stop me helping, but were unsuccessful. He was quite prepared to let his partner who's just over five feet tall and weighs next to nothing to take one end of sofas and cupboards. Mind you, as she says, she's used to heavy lifting as a nurse.

Lots of little cleaning-up and tying-in. I also took the hedge clippers to some Clematis plants blocking the arch openings. I dead-headed many spent perennials. The stems I will later use to mulch the veggie beds with. I picked more beans and checked my bees. I also removed some encroaching reed from the bordering canal.

    Lovely toms, Loggie.

Beginning the garden cleanup. Just doing a bit everyday otherwise I find it overwhelming.

Processed a load of tomatoes with onions, garlic, fresh herbs & kale. I have three large containers for freezing. Just when I think the tomatoes are done producing, they turn out more!

The late sowing of lettuce is coming in nicely.
Telegraph beans have done very well this year. I have many packages of them in the freezer.

Cayu, sorry but there are a couple of sentences there that I could not comprehend. I do think that I got the gist of what you are saying though.
I know what you mean about cleaning-up though. The whole winterising process is a challenge I’ll grant you.
I would very much like to see some pics of your harvests, processing and cleanup measures . I find that sort of thing interesting. If you have the time that is. You gotta pace yourself, you busy lady, you.

Did some weeding and watering, next week I might start planting the wallflowers. Where I plant them the lavender tumbles over some of the spaces and they haven't finished yet so maybe next week. Next week should be warmer but maybe wetter, that's great for the plants but not for me.

We had a tropical system come through so I got the backpack blower out and cleaned everything up today. Maybe 2 hours later a nasty thunderstorm blew up and trashed everything again.:smt013

My middle name is 'typo'. Chuckle. It does not help that i do "the swipe" as I text on my cell phone. Leaves too much room for autocorrect.
