I only looked at the garden today. We had little snow pellets and cold wind.

Maybe I'll try an early planting of beans. I too saved lots from 2014 and can replant.

Planted another Red Lady Papaya tree on the other side of my house. Want to make sure I have enough to freeze for the winter months. Hate spending $5.00 a piece at the grocery store when I run out.

Sueanne, we had never had Papaya until we were vacationing in the Caribbean. A waiter at a restaurant was singing the praises of papaya, so we tried it. Oh my, it was so good! I envy you being able to grow papaya.
It is definitely worth $5 each at the grocery, but so much better if you grow your own.

Today I slogged around in the mushy black clay that I laughingly call soil, not doing much else except taking a few photos.

I finally had a good day in the gardens! Added manure and compost to my veggie beds, and actually got the peas, spinach, chard and radish planted! Also got 3 flower beds topdressed. Ah, it's so nice to get back out into the gardens!

Netty, just reading all that you get accomplished makes me so tired I want to go have a lie-down! Isn't it good to be outside, messing about?
I just hung out the second load of wash, and dead-headed a bunch of roses. We had rain overnight so I can't get into the gardens and it is worrying me. I don't want my gardens to look like pasture land!

Today I watered some veggies. Potted some dirt for future plants.
Pretty much nothing to speak of. Still chilly out there.
The plus side of cool is that the Daffodils are still beautiful, and
the Forsythia. Tulips are beginning to blossom.

Ms Kitty, I hope your grandson is healing.

My peas have sprouted, so I filled in any holes where the seed didn't germinate and ran some string/poles to give them something to hopefully cling to. This is my first year planting peas, so it's an experiment for me. I think I see some spinach popping through now also.

I was outside (before I had my coffee!!) spraying my fruit trees. I seem to have a very small window of opportunity and this morning it was now or never. Now its done and I can have my coffee :)

Yesterday I was out back all morning laying cardboard and mulch. Over the years I have found I can not control the variety of weeds out there without chemicals or cardboard so I use cardboard. I want to get most of it covered before the heat of summer sets in.

The afternoon was spent in the front yard pulling weeds and some of the hundreds of baby big a**** Cosmos that re-seeded from last year. And I found three Chrysanthemum plants that hadn't been put in the ground yet....overwintering in pots meant they were loaded with ants so those had to be treated first.

Came inside about 5, had a long island iced tea and a nap with the cat on my lap. Supper was leftovers...i.e. the containers are on the table fix it yourself.

    Looks like everyone is busy.
Today I set out a lot of Red onion seedlings. Planted some more spinach.
I dug up a huge Dandelion that had not formed a flower. I washed the
leaves, soaked them in white vinegar, cooked and ate them. It has been
several years since I ate wild plants. Very tasty.
The tomato seed saved from last year don't seem to be sprouting, so maybe
I dida poor job of saving them. I reckon it will be tomato plants from my
local farmer. No Heirlooms for me. Oh well.

Earthed-up the spud leaves against the frosty nights.
    More bee-work.
Everything on the windowsills needed water again today.
Those sunflowers are getting so tall and leggy now.
Cleaned around the Bocking 14 plants. I can already see that they are going to yield a lot of leaves.
    Harvesting Allium ursinum.
