I worked in my sedum garden. I had to add some sand and gravel for drainage. I have already lost 2 plants and didn't want to lose any more.

I had a great day out in the veggie garden yesterday! I got the soil all 'prepped' for the tomatoes in a few weeks, and also planted more of the cool weather crops ... lettuce's, spinach, onions, kale and then watered it all in. We actually need some rain! Today I hope to get the containers filled and the back gardens edged.

I covered the Mayan Gold spuds that had come above ground to protect the new leaves from night frost. Getting the greenhouse plants ready for planting in ten days or so. Continuing work with the bees to combat their swarming intentions. The war on Ground Elder continues.

Sjoerd, it sounds like you're very busy.

It's early morning, so I haven't been out to the garden.
I do have good news. The tomato seedlings have finally
begun sprouting. So far, there is spinach, peas, kale, onions,
a tiny bit of asparagus, radishes volunteering from a plant I
allowed to go to seed and it scattered over the area in spring.
Potatoes haven't shown up yet. My faith is strong !

I planted 4 kinds of squash, a few more tomato plants and pulled a few weeds.

I planted the last block of corn and two long rows of green beans. Also chased the neighbor's chickens out of the yard so they wouldn't upset my ladies or dig out seeds or take dust baths in the flower gardens! I still need to weed and mulch some in one of the vegetable gardens, but enough is enough for one day.

I've been planting some sedums and semps today. I'm almost finished planting .yea. I bought some sedums online the other day and I was so disappointed with them. They look awful in my garden, but the nursery won't do anything unless they completely die. So I planted them today .

    Whatever happened to customer satisfaction.

I took a few photos and had planned on getting some pecan trees taken up but I just really didn't want to be out there. Think I will get some of the photos posted in a bit though.

I can't get into my gardens yet. The snow has just now finally melted. Have to wait for the ground to dry up to get the tractor into the gardens. That will be a few more weeks yet. Been playing tin the greenhouse though. Tomato plants are looking good. My onions are a fail this year and I don't know why that happened. :( Last year I had great onions. I will have to buy some sets later. I am going to start my squash, pumpkin and cucumbers in the greenhouse this year. I have never done that before but our spring is unusually late this year and I will need the head start. So I will be busy "puttering" for a while yet. :)

I planted coleus today. Hope I'm not jumping the gun. Planted a hibiscus and a rose bush. Put together some mixed pots of flowers for Mother's Day at the market. Fertilized all my tomato and pepper plants. Going to sleep good tonight.

Not getting anything done out there again today.
Randy's blood work last month showed him to be diabetic (type 2 and just borderline) so today we have an appointment with a dietitian to make sure we have our info correct about what he can and can not eat to keep him from having to go on medicine or shots anytime soon.

Nothing out there tomorrow either since I have an appointment with the oncologist for the every 4th month blood letting.

Dr. appts always take a large chunk out the day o_O

GrowingPains--It sounds good there...things coming right along. Is your weather getting better all the time?
It rained here today, so no gardening. I did tend the plantlets here at home on the windowsill. They are really growing rapidly now.

Sjoerd, our weather has been conducive to gardening.
However, rain began midday yesterday and came down
abundantly during the night. Therefore, no garden work today.
I have all the peat pot planting done. Now I hope to see tiny
leaves popping up through the soil.
We have cucumber seeds in two large pots between a three-
sided trellis. Also Malabar spinach in a large container which
can grow up another trellis. We're trying container carrots
for the first time. The size is about 2 X 3 feet, maybe ?
Yesterday I did set out 4 broccoli, 4 cauliflower and 4
Brussel sprout plants. I chose a different area for them due to
the Aphid invasion last year. I will watch them carefully.
