Other than on the roof cleaning gutters and downspouts. It’s been windy and all the debris in the whole county I swear all lands on my roof…
Trimmed a couple magnolias… dogwoods, and Spanish pine tree. this is fall the best time to trim.
Also removed Virginia creeper limes up on lattice to roof. Has beautiful blue /purple berries and red orange leaves. Pulled them to make a swag for fall.

trimmed out branch from dogwood 5D1EC5B8-7C97-4D33-BBF5-B2359CE416F9.jpeg

trimmed out second leader from Spanish Pine pine next to dogwood. C4348966-12BD-4639-9C48-B1396BFB3495.jpeg D511D256-031F-47D0-BFA0-ADF26D6D12E3.jpeg

Two more mags to go tomorrow..
This is the Italian evergreen that was bombarded last April by a ice storm weighed down several branches.
Most of it was saved by resting next to the greenhouse . 429C9124-051E-4A25-B1EF-F620607342D9.jpeg

Just look what you’ve done mate! Well done.
That is heavy work for a lil girl. Chuckle.
Seriously though, just be careful and like they say— “don’t do too much at once”.
    Chapeau.

    BTW—great idea for a swag.

Tied up the first 2 of the loganberry plants, they get so long they grow into everything else, I was getting a bit clostrophobic with all the branches around me.

I did nothing today, I've not done anything for a couple of weeks as I had a recurrence of my problems with spondylitis. A week ago I was pretty much incapacitated for a few days, but I've been on strong anti-inflammatories for a week. Plus, we had our flu and Covid jabs yesterday. I'm much recovered, but I didn't fancy doing anything in the garden today, as I'm going back to playing golf tomorrow, first time in two weeks.
However, there's a guy who does gardens in our road. He's not a gardener, he just mows and tidies. So I grabbed him today, just to cut both lawns and get rid of some of the fallen years. He was here for about twenty minutes. His mowing wasn't up to my standard, but for fourteen quid, I can't complain. Hopefully I'll be back gardening next week.

Riley.. you found a helper… OMG…Send him my way. Every time I hire help they do more damage ..pull plant seedling they think are weeds, or pull up tree peony’s they think are dead because they are red./brown. And the list goes on..

Will finish taking beach trimmings to the burn pile I think. I’m a bit sore from yesterday up on the tile roof removing a squirrel nest inside a round tile the last in the side row, near the down spout. I had to be a catorsionist to wiggle between the tile roof and patio cover.

Then the stupid blue jay knocked on my window this AM at 5;30…. When I get my hands othat thing it will be toast! Grrr…it been doing that all summer … that jay has got a lot of nerve…

The soil in the greenhouse was turned over and roots removed. A neighbour that has a commerical greenhouse is selling me a few bales of soil at cost, so I will pick them up tomorrow on the way home from town. That way I am ready for early lettuce and spinach this spring. The last of the tools were put away, and the tarp dropped on the garden shed/horse stable. The benches and lawn furniture were put away.
I jimmied the back step to last one more winter, and then hauled some gravel to add a wee pad and a 4x6 at the base, shimmed with some wee rocks, so that Hubby has an extra step up. It's not pretty but it will do the trick I think.
The remaining garden items on the porch were put away. The rose bush in the pot was cut off and the pot tucked away. The wood boxes are on the porch and full. One load of wood was carried up to the loft. I kept the long kindling off to the side to use for stakes in the spring.
I put a motion sensored frog by the memory garden to discourage a doe that has decided it is nice to have some green leaves amongst the yellow. I don't want her to make a habit of it - see if it works. :)

    Ribbit Ribbit. :)

Hope that it works Melody, we don't have trouble with dear only Foxes, one of them dug up 2 wallflowers around the front path, I planted one back in but the other one had wilted so bad it had to be replaced and convalescing in a jar of water, hardly had any root left.

That is such a good opportunity to get soil at cost.
It sounds like you have exercised your boundless talents again with the latest construction.
    What a girl !
It really does sound like the season is over there, and you are all packed-up and ready for the next seasonal change.
Do you still have some outside things to do?

Some apples from the minidwarf and espalier trees. These are Honeycrisp, Rubinette, Cosmic Crisp, Golden Treat, Jonagold, and Redlove Calypso.

It's the first bearing year for some of these, so Im happy to get a taste.

I also planted some daffodil and hyacinth bulbs in the meditation garden.

And I collected flower seeds, choosing the ones I liked the best - African and French Marigolds, Yellow and Fuchsia Pink Four O'Clocks, Bloodflower, the more interesting of the Rudbeckias, the pink but not the white Cleomes. I was going to save fennel seeds, but I ate them all.

I need to save some of the better pepper seeds. I haven't done that before. I will also try to overwinter some of the pepper plants.

    Please? Pretty please? LOL.
My face looks bad enough without yellow jacket stings. Back to normal now. I have not been back to that particular apple tree yet.

Yes, for all of the heirloom and open pollinated tomatoes, squashes, pumpkins, and a lot of the flowers. I think they germinate better and have more vigor, plus are free, plus there have been shortages of some varieties. At other times I have saved seeds for chives, Chinese chives, Chinese polebeans, Swiss Chard, and collard greens. I hybridized a red flesh apple with a columnar apple and grew those seeds, but no fruit at two years old so far.

    Thank you Sjoerd.
The outside list is waning with a big push to have things done early/on time this year. I still have to add the soil to the greenhouse and turn those beds over. I suspect that will be in a couple of weeks if I don't get to it today or tomorrow ( it stays nice and warm in there). I'm also waiting a wee bit to mulch the strawberries. They are quite sheltered where they are. And I need to be sure to move my pots this year so that I don't need snowshoes to access them again.

Not in the garden today, air is too smoky. We got evacuation alerts yesterday afternoon. I'm a few miles from the evacuation green zone on the map, northwest part of Battleground (NW corner of the map), but have the option to stay in town 35 miles from there, so I am.

I want to clear a raised bed to plant garlic now. Weather and fire allowing, planning that for later this week.
