Stay safe Donna!. Heat isn't a problem here today... it isn't more than 70ish today and WET wet WET wet WET. Flooding everywhere, we had at least 2" of rain by 10:00am this morning. makes for a very wet farmers market.

Hubby helped me shore up one of the tomatoes that over grew it's cage and was covering the bell peppers. Cut back some out of control basil. Pulled out some spent green beans. Dug out crab grass, and planted next green bean crop. We have the "cucumbers that ate Cincinnati" and they needed to be wrangled. Found 2 enormous cucumbers
hiding and harvested a few zucchini.

I have one half that size, but just like yours. It held up very well last winter and we had a lot of snow. Good luck with it.

Thanks Donna and Kate. I can't wait to see how my seeds germinate and grow in this little greenhouse. It gets really hot and humid inside it during the day, and it seems to be holding the heat at night too. It does get quite cold at night, but I don't think it has gotten colder than -10 degrees celsius this winter so far, so I am sure my seeds will still germinate and my veggies will still be a success :)
And since it gets much colder in the US and UK, I am sure my plants will be fine down here in SA :)

Picked blueberries for breakfast and picked up a few annuals to fill in some holes in the garden. Need to pick more berries and freeze them...but will procrastinate.

    Donna, you have weeds?;)
I finally got around to dead-heading roses, cutting back a couple of shrubs that threatened to take over the path to the workshop, and weeded. On my way back from the compost pile I noticed I needed to pick tomatoes again. Looks like I'll be canning again tomorrow!

Pulled bind weed. It's flowering and I'd swear it can grow a couple of feet a day. Did a little check on a fern that a towhee kept taking nesting materials to the last couple of weeks. Scared the poor thing off her nest of three eggs. Won't bother her again.
