Started emptying the 2nd compost bins, got half way had to stop, my lower back was aching too much from stooping down a lot, i could have carried on but it's not worth it in the long run.

I am so sorry to hear that, Loggie. My back is just beginning to get back to normal now. It “went-out” on the second Christmas day. I am just glad that it happened now and not during the busy Spring period.

Logan I’ve never seen propa gators like those. Very interesting. Must look those up. Thank you . now I am more than excited to start seeds with a system like yours. I can’t see paying 6.45 per gal for propane. So I don’t have my greenhouse heated to start seed.

Riley as long as there are computers and credit cards there will always be scammers. Last x-mass I received a notification from a store on the East coast that someone used my credit card to purchase a child’s battery op rider tractor .the credit card company rejected the purchase and we lost nothing. Cancelled the forgery credit card and started a new credit card .

Boy the bending ache in lower back is overwhelming sometimes. I have had to wear a soft elastic back support and use leverage to move things and gardening. If it hurts my back I stop. A good masseuse also can help. To many back injuries and age has taken a toll.
Take care let me know if you need info on mindfulness or treatment and maybe info you have can help us too. Compressions in my spin is the culprit.

Thank you Sjoerd and glad that your back is getting better. It's so easy to have a pulled muscle in the back.

Thanks Pacnorwest about my back, I've had trouble with it over the years and treatments. I've got a natural curving spine that doesn't help things, my mom said that i was late in sitting up when i was a baby, perhaps that has something to do with it,my propagators are over 20 years old, they're electric. It's difficult to get electric into a greenhouse i imagine.

Logan O so sorry. Back pain has been a huge issue for me over the years. Sounds like you may have curvature of the spine spinabifida cysta Which is my issue. Not much can be done. The best thing is to keep my core muscles strong and lucky to have a lovely big collie dog to help me up from sitting on the ground in the garden. She comes running to help me up every time I need help.
Similar issue here. It takes a toll. It’s a life changer. Sending good vibes your way. Take it slow and easy we have many good gardening years ahead.

I get real problems with my neck and shoulders sometimes, hard to lift my arms. A few months ago, it was a real effort to get out of bed.
I managed to get a doctor's appointment and she put me on Naproxen anti-inflammatories. It took two courses before it was really better and I'm hanging on to a third lot, in case it happens again.

But as a family, we swear by Arnica gel for general aches and pains and bruises.

Riley you are always out in your garden and very active.it’s the years of training in the garden and other household chores that keep us all movin.. Naproxon is helpful glad it got you back on track.
Arnica is great used for centuries great herb. I use microwave heat pads wrap around areas to sooth away pain and swelling. And OTC pain patches with lidocaine. Sometimes just rest helps.

Now back outside trying to get my mower to start. It just quit running while mowing… not the battery.. still trouble shooting.

Sorry to hear that you have that and glad that you can manage it. Thanks but i haven't got it, years ago i had a x-ray at a chiropractor and he said that my discs are a bit squashed just below my waist, I was getting pain down my right leg from it, that's when i was in my 40s. When i was 23 i had the same symptoms and saw a osteopath on the NHS and he said the same thing and he said that i had a slipped disc but it went back in. I had heat treatment and traction, it was so weird i lay on a bed that was in 2 pieces my legs were strapped up and under my arms and they opened up the bed so my back would be stretched, but it worked for 20 years.:)

Wasn't raining today, so I went and played golf, a few holes closed, but the greens were dry and just a few puddles on a few fairways. It was quite mild for the time of the year.
Came home and cut up the dead mimosa and put it in the bin. New one comes at the end of the month.
If it stays dry for a couple of hours tomorrow, when I've done the shopping, I'll tackle next door's overhanging trees.

I pruned several trees. The columnar flowering plum was maybe 2 feet below a power line. Now it's more like ten feet below the power line. I also used the pole saw to cut dead branches out of the towering horse chestnut tree, and pruned crossing branches and some low branches from a ginkgo tree I grew from see 25 years ago, and a Prairie Fire Crabapple and a Greenspire Linden. I can's believe they've grown so well since I planted them 11 years ago. No photos, without leaves or flowers they just look like sticks.

I also set up more seed trays. Some of the seeds are old but who knows? More chili peppers, eggplants, Asian eggplants, some basil, tigridia, Chinese chives. Some are tests to see if they are viable.
