It's been dry, so I was able to get a few jobs done, mostly tidying the garden, but not much else. I did give both my jukeboxes a good "run out" whilst I was out there, most of the time cleaning my golf clubs, bag, electric trolley and the boot of my car. It was handy that now I have a good supply of hot water, with the new heater, as I needed a lot of it as everything was hanging.
My trolley was a problem as it wouldn't collapse as it should when required. A case of a partial disassemble and some WD40. So it's all done. But the course was closed today, so won't be much better on Monday if it's open, so I'll leave it until Wednesday. I don't fancy cleaning everything so soon.

    That sounds great, @Clay_22 ! I think it's a fantastic collection.

I'm growing mostly hybrid varieties of Jalapeno, Serrano, Ancho, Cayenne, and a couple others. Heirlooms do OK here, but when I grow them side by side in my climate, I get better results with hybrids. My seeds have germinated, now to keep them warm and watered.

It was in the 70s here today, and supposed to be 80 on Tuesday ahead of a cold front...

I was able to get outdoors, and haul manure and wood chips to top off the potato barrel, and planted my rhubarb in it. The rhubarb crowns were already sprouting nicely. My rhubarb variety is called "Victoria". I have a DIL and a cousin with that name. Allegedly it only gets 3 feet tall?

I planted a bag of white onion sets, some in the ground and some in containers. I planted two rows of red beets, and a few in starter pots also. I planted some parsley seeds in my raised strawberry bed, and in some containers with the white onions. The redbeets are called "Lutz Leafy Green Winterkeeper" whatever that is.

I hauled two loads of wood chips around to various areas in my garden, and also tossed some of the Horsey manure into my compost pile.

And I never took count of all the seeds I planted.

My pea seedlings look great, but it is too soon to put them out, unless I make milk jug covers for them. Hmmm. Maybe I will. They will get better light, and free up some space for other things in my front room.

The torch lilies look good, but it might be too soon to put them outside also. It looks like the whole package sprouted.

The spinach is kind of leggy (I cannot get the light closer), but I should be able to put it out in a week or two.

My thyme is still not up, nor the chives or bunching onions. It is too soon for the columbines to be up, but they might be up before the others that are dilatory.

And I worked on the blue jean quilt some more today. :)

It's very cold today, so I was only out for half an hour and I'm back in, watching Andy Murray struggle against a twenty-four year-old. It's one set all at the moment.

I sorted out the bamboo forest at the bottom of the garden, since the new post went in It's been missing a restraining wire, so was a bit floppy at the right hand-end. This was activating the security light on the side of the tea-house.

I'd run out of wire, so had to go into the village hardware store for some more.

Doesn't look much different, but the top is now closer to the fence. The new wire is strung between the top of two posts.

Then I got into this "Amber" clematis on the fence next to the kitchen window.

Last summer it was huge ball of foliage mixed up with the big jasmine that is in the bed at the left-hand end.
At the end of last year, I pruned the jasmine right down to the ground as usual, (it grows higher than the fence) and drastically cut back the clematis.

I've spread it out. I might dig out the jasmine and put it where I've a gap along the side fence near the rockery.
You can see one of the soft wood pergola posts. It last got painted two years ago. Not been touched since.
Dulux outdoor paint is excellent for such things.

We are looking forward to chitting the spuds, planting the toms and the broad beans in the coming days.

It was 87F here today, and supposed to be 25F overnight? The winds were 40-50 mph today, and things were blown all over the place. I went out and had to pick up things that the winds blew all over the place~ milk jugs, empty flower pots and starter trays... other odds n ends too. We are supposed to be getting that big cold front moving in.

I put the milk jug covers on my peas and my new blueberry bushes and tied them down.

I think I will plant my lettuce/s and spinach in my wild raspberry patch this year. It gets afternoon shade, which should help the lettuce and spinach to not bolt so soon. My tame raspberries are in big salt tubs.

I did get a bit of flower bed cleaned yesterday. (50+ more to do...)

One of my neighbors had 2 dogs get loose and run off last week. She put up posters and stuff all over and on FB. Yesterday, they were found. They had been hit by a car and died of their injuries. :( They were nice dogs. They had been taken to a vet, but died anyway.
