Thank you everyone, yes it's certainly a very stressful. time.

The garden can take care of itself for the time being, we're just not looking at it. It's amazing how unruly it can get without a daily dose of maintenance......even if it's only a bit of deadheading it all makes a huge difference.

Potted up 60 yellow crocus corms, 3 in each pot and 50 purple crocus corms, they were smaller so i put 5 in each pot. I do that so if there's any spaces i can put them in.

Not really a day for gardening today.
It's been raining and the wind has been very strong.
This mimosa that's now over fifteen feet tall, we've had for a couple of years, was "straining at the leash."

It's put on a lot of growth this year and takes a considerable amount of restraining.

I had intended to give it a prune late in the year, but I was concerned it could break away given how strong was the wind, so I decided to do it this morning.
It was a bit of a pain to do. I used my Barnel telescopic pruner. A case of taking a bit off then stepping back to see the shape, then take off more.

I think it looks OK, less dominant for something in a side bed. There will be plenty of flowers on it next month.

Did you remove bits from the top primarily? That tree looks pretty good. The ones here are starting to bloom already. It is raining steadily over here at the minute. I hope you did not get wet.

There was a bit of a lull in the winds and rain, so it was OK.
Yes, I've reduced the height, I want it to bush out more.
