OK, babysat for 5 Italian kids, learned how sneaky kids can be and how much I loved them for it. Worked retail at JC Penney, my first real job, learned how picky people can be. Temp secretary at construction company, learned not to do your job so well or you work your way out of it. Didn't do much after that, then had my best job at 30, being a MOM, stay at home for 13 years. Rural grocery store, learned how to do everything there was in the store including cutting meat which I really liked. WalMart, meat wrapper, learned that I really hate retail, especially since we no longer cut meat. Nothing exciting, just honest hard work.
Waitressed during college. Learned how nasty and cheap people can be. Veterinary assistant during college. Learned how weird people can be and that working for five doctors is never a good idea. Worked in state library and city library. Sat in the room where they kept the material too racy for the stacks and typed cards for the catalogue. Fun job because I got to be alone much of the time. But I needed to be outside. Learned a lot of strange people are attracted to the library. Built barn doors and horse stalls and helped install them. Learned that power tools are noisy and sharp and that I really like them. Assistant Trainer for a show horse barn. Fun work and great people until a certain stall cleaner was hired. Learned that one bad apple is all it takes to ruin the whole lot. Went to farrier school then started my own business. Acquired FORTITUDE. muddy
