I only got to like his music when he went solo.i don't follow their private lives but I knew that there was something wrong when he did a cover album.

I mentioned Bill Evans playing "My Foolish Heart."
As a child I remember this being my mother's favourite tune and a particular singer of it, who died quite young. He was British and managed to sing this in the fifties without affecting an American accent as many British singers started to do around this time.
Ten years ago I found a CD of his songs in a record store and put this track on YouTube

So far it's had over 47,000 hits and a lot of positive comments. I still like it.

I have a few CD's by George Michael, seen him only 'live shows' on the TV but really enjoyed his performances.
Careless Whisper a brilliant song, likewise A Different Corner..husband even like's those two...(Cliff R obsessed he is..sneak that in as D/Riley will think...surely not mentioning 'him' again....haha..hates that sort of music.)

This I might have posted on a different thread.

It was a bit of a shock when she died.
Hard to believe it's five years ago.

I really like this. I'm impressed with the backing vocalists, it's a "question and answer" duet, as you sometimes get with two instruments in jazz.

    Another who died too soon.

I have this in one of my jukeboxes.

This is Marilyn McCoo from The Fifth Dimension. This was a hit in 1972.
She had a four octave vocal range.

Here she's singing it at the age of 65. The original's in one of my jukeboxes.

I've been thinking about this for a long time. There are indeed many songs that can be described as good, or even excellent - However I am not really the type of person who listens to music.

But if I were to choose then absolute best song of all time. Then I have no choice but these 2 nonsense songs - As they are universal, (as in without language)...

In fact as far as I know, there are only 2 such songs in history which fall into this category. First is of course the unforgettable Charlie Chaplin's A Nonsense Song. While the other is from a Russian singer named Eduard Khil, who under the strict control of the Soviet Union, wasn't allowed to sing anything which went against the Communist Party. Therefore he too came up with a nonsense song of his own.

    :snicker: :rofl::smt044

This song speaks for itself, Russell Watson has his own challenges still, every day.
I think of my closest friend Rosi who lost her battle at a young age and everybody else that I deeply cared about.
