    Daisybeans, soak your bean seeds in a bit of water for an hour or 2 before you plant them :D

    I'm glad you mentioned the fact of Bush beans creating their own fertilizer. I fortunately didn't apply any when I planted.
    I too am reluctant to toss any plants, and absolutely not tomatoes. I usually dig a wee spot in a corner and place them. Even if I get a couple of tomatoes from it, thats a plus. The volunteers rarely get pulled out either.
