I had dolls, and I did play with them, but mostly I loved my brother's toys more. He had building blocks, tinker toys, Lincoln logs, an erector set, and several other building toys. We also had clay at my aunt's house. She was very strict about that--we had to put down wax paper on a TV tray and keep it there. She did NOT want it in her carpets. Another favorite was roller skates-- the old metal adjustable kind with a skate key. I had an old cast iron bicycle that my dad rescued and fixed up for me, but that was the dickens to peddle up hill. I think it was made pre WWII ?

Once when me and my brother Frank were toddlers, he stole my favorite toy-- a white stuffed giraffe with green and red polka dots-- and I found a board and clobbered him over the head. It had 6 nails in it, so he had to go and get stitches. Ouch. He survived it though.

AAnightowl: Ouch that must have hurt. When I was 7 and my little brother was 3yrs old we would play horse in the house. I would tie a rope around my waist and he would hold the other end like he was riding a horse. We would gallop threw the house and he would giggle and laugh holding on to the end of the rope. Well one day while we were galloping threw the house the horse(me) decided to make a sharp turn and head back the way we came. It was a seen out of crack the rope game. My little brother at the other end of the rope was flung face down on the wooden floor. As he raised up his head while screaming blooding murder. Blood was coming out of his mouth and I knew our Mom would just murder me. She came running and inspected him and found out that in the fall he had knock his front teeth loose, very loose. So we wisked him off to the doctor who said that if he did loose them they were only his baby teeth but maybe they will tighten up. Well they did tighten, I was not murdered, and we never played horse in the house again. ;)

I had a Hula Hoop that I played with a lot. We had a tree house too. It was really just a board in the tree.

Coolasacucumber: But that one board could become almost anything one could imagine. I also loved to play in trees. ;)
