You little hottie you :D I know when I do avoid high sugar foods I really do feel better. It's very hard at first but after a while I notice a change :-D It's a vicious circle. The worse I eat, the worse I feel so the more I eat :'( I'll do pretty good for a day or two and then I'm back to the old habits in no time flat. When Mom was diagnosed with diabetes it scared me, that's what made me so aware of what I was doing to myself. Every day is a struggle but all I can do is try

Ooo - I love that idea, seeing as my kids interrupt too often for me to only watch one once. I remember coming across teachers on television over the years and being fascinated with watching them. Hmm... Sounds like something for winter when I'm not weeding so often. :-D

I wish I were more motivated to weed. I love all aspects of gardening but that. :( I let them actually go to to seed. Horrors! I am really lazy about that.
I had to completely change MY diatary habits in the last year due to health concerns. It's funny how you feel AND look so much better but still HATE it with a passion. My husband isn't TOO fond of the changes either but I've only changed HIS diet slightly and mine radically. It's strange to actually be getting some new GOOD habits. :p It is SO worth it yet you get SO sick of having to think about everything SO much.

I have been thinking about this and I have discovered something about myself. What motivates me is deadlines,(which I already said) and disasterous conseqinces. I think now I will be thinking about positve things that should mostivate me instead of negative ones. This may help me in the "Quitting smoking" dept as well. When negative things are all that motivate me I tend to procrastinate more, which adds stress and makes the whole big picture contribute to slowing down the process. I think motivation is important and the end result will probably be more satisfying if motivated by something positive! What do you guys think along this line?

Thinking out loud now, perhaps my approach and way of thinking is my own worst enemy??

OK, then here's a real-life positive for anyone who wants to drop a few, I went from 169 last year's April, to 132 by last year's August. Been bouncing just above that ever since (darn chocolate cravings!) but maybe that'll help- I certainly wouldn't have thought it possible before my health scare made me do it

You go girl! I wish I could do the same. Four years ago I was 124 and gradually put on the pounds. Topped out at 184. Just recently lost back to 160 which isn't really too big for my frame (5'7") but would still love to loose about 20 more pounds. My feet would love me for it. I think my meds had a lot to do with the gain because I have always been too thin (if there is such a thing) and when I got off a couple of them I started losing. Gives me a new goal, especially if I am going to quit smoking. But I was so tired the other night after having anesthesia earlier that day, and I got hungry. I was too tired to fix anyhting so I ate a package of almond joy candy bars!! That was ten...don't suppose that will give me a jump start on the losing. What stinks is after I lost 24 pounds, my blood pressure jumped up to the point of needing medication for that. I thought losing helped lower your BP??

Yeah, I'll never understand that, I hear BP stories all the time, but with my other annoying things I simply CANNOT have elevated pressure. Losing the weight didn't change Anything... but it was funny to see the look of amazement and sympathy on my Doc's face when I went in to have it checked after losing.
