We shall eat late this evening and I do not yet know what it will be. What I can tell you is that we had warm apfelstrudel with whipped cream over in the western part of the harbour.

    Of course! What else?

I prepared swordfish, fingerling potatoes and zucchini. My husband was pleased.

Since it is a cooler, rainy day, we are having pasta with marinara sauce, Italian bread, and a salad of baby lettuces with carrot shavings. Dessert will be port wine with gorgonzola cheese on the left-over Italian bread, toasted.
    I'm looking forward to dessert!

We Stewbies seem to eat well, don't we?

My husband and I are up at the family farm in Western NY State. It is currently snowing outside! We are here for the Forestry project, we are having some hardwoods culled. Because the cottage is not well winterized, the water has been turned off. Not easy conditions to cook under. So, I brought a bunch of frozen meals that I stocked up on.

Tonight leeks wrapped in Serrano ham and baked in the oven. Also baked aubergine. The aubergine are cut in half lengthwise and deep criss cross cuts are made. Sprinkled with lemon juice and salt and left to marinade for at least 30 minutes. Afterwards bake in the oven until cooked. While baking crush up garlic and mix with olive oil and salt. Crush with a pestle and mortar until you obtain a paste ( allioli ). Once the aubergines are soft take them out and spread the allioli on them. Put them in the oven for a few minutes and then serve.

Sounds delicious Odif! I wish my zucchini were still producing. This is a good recipe for the larger zucs that "get away" from you. Fortunately there are always store bought.

It looks pretty cold there, Cayu. Did you have to take water with you in Gerry cans? Tea and coffee in thermoses?
It sounds like you guys are glamping. The chicken pot pies make everything good though, don't they.
