Potato wedges, meatballs and gravy with cheesed cauli.

Cayu, did shrimp come out the winner?

Mart...poor thing. My fingers are crossed for you. Well, if you get rich and snobby, I can always say that “I knew her when....”

We are making the shrimp now. It'll be shrimp scampi over pasta with steamed artichoke, zucchini and roasted red pepper and garlic bread from the bread machine. Hopefully it'll be good.

“Hopefully it’ll be good”?!!... are you mad— of course it’ll be good.
Its bedtime here, but it still sounds good to me.
BTW— what do you do with the steamed arti? How do you consume it, I mean? Dip it in melted butter, and pull the leaves back out of your mouth, your teeth retaining the “ flesh ”? Orrrr is the steaming sufficient to make it edible leaves and all?

Sj, re the steamed artichoke we eat it the first way, pulling out through our teeth. In but oh so delicious!

And yes the shrimp was delicious. We've been sauteeing the shells in the olive oil prior to sauteeing the shrimp; seems to give the dish a double punch of shrimp flavor.

    That cheesed cauliflower sounds good!

Oh yeahhhhhhhh...double sauteeing. Mmm humm, nice touch, meid.
Well, I do not know another was of eating arti’s...except for the “ hearts”. We usually work our way through the leaves, and at a certain point, we then go for the heart and then the only tooth work is just up and down.
Having said that, sometimes we use the hearts in salads.

When we lived in AK we would combine the arti’s with king crab legs..

    Sounds delicious Sj.

We had a special dinner tonight. It's our daughter's last night with us in the house. It's been so nice having her in our "pod" for a change.

Anyway, we celebrated with her favorite:. scallops. We had them over parsnip puree with a sauce of mushrooms chopped up finely cooked in butter and lemon. With a side of asparagus. It was amazing. I can't wait until we can have company again and serve it to them. IMG_20210102_190126.jpg IMG_20210102_190121.jpg

    Spaghetti bolognaise.

That dish looks and sounds spectacular. Your own puree? Like from your own parsnips?
Here we would say that your daughter fell with her nose in the butter, meaning that she had had really good luck to be with you for that great meal.

Just curious but is that an appetizer or do we in Texas just eat more ! Three asparagus spears would just whet our appetite ! Even at my size,, 5ft 1 inch and 112 llbs,, I have a good appetite and that just wouldn`t cut it ! Give me a good size steak and A-1 and I am happy,, with baked potato on the side !

Beware of small packages with impatient dispositions, for they can cook your goose my mamma always told me. Is there any truth to that girls, I wonder?

We had bits n bobs— last. Of the frikendellen, friet and leek curry. It was bizarre, but tasty.
