Thanks for the link @Pacnorwest , very interesting. I wouldn't however want to see the introduction of such predatory animals, I love the very fact that we can enjoy walking our countryside in safety knowing we won't come across any potentially dangerous animals.

    Thanks @Logan.

Yes @Sjoerd we do have Deer but I honestly don't think that they are the culprits as the perimeter is secure and in the 42 years that we've been here we've never had such an incident. I also think we would've seen a bit more damage over the borders if one had trampled over it to nab the bloom.....and why only that single one?

Trees / shrubs are starting to change color. Cool nights and shorter days. The garden is talking to me to get ready for winter…
Hips are showing on the climbing roses and burning bush is just starting to turn the bright red for autumn.

The changing of the colors in your garden is so beautiful and in a way satisfying to see. Exceptional color and variety. Adore your fuchias and the black leaf dahlia exquisite specimen.. such a full garden sending up the final bloom of the season.
I’m ready for a winter’s rest. All your season pics look like they belong in a garden magazine. The 22 of sept is the last day of summer.

I picked a few cosmos this am and some apples.

zinnias , monardas and marigolds lookin a bit drabby, the nicotianas are barely holding on…

Pac— Very nice foto’s up above. Great fuchsia and cosmeas. Apples…gosh, are they already ripe?!. Your yellow border is stunning.

Oreti— Zinnias, cosmea and dahlias look so nice there. Chapeau.

Thank you Sj. It’s that time of year for us all to embrace the cooler weather and shorter days. As our gardens wind down in that slow procession to the coming winters sleep. Soon the leaves will be aglow as autumn takes the lead before winter leads the way til spring.
