Wow!!! I see something bright up in the sky and it's warm enough to not need long underwear today. Sat, 6-25, was fairly chilly all day. a little warmth in the afternoon and dropped back down to chilly by dark. In my one greenhouse that is now not heated, the temp overnight was 60*-15c so it was cooler than that outside. But there is rain in the forecast and I need to do a bunch of weeding!!! my onion patch is more of a weed patch than onions. Strawberries were weeded twice and need it again.
Yaaah! Sunshine. Well for the last two day we have had beautiful weather. Temps in the mid 70's, a light breeze and NO RAIN. I've felt like a chicken in a June bug factory. I wasn't sure what to do first. Mow the grass, pull weeds, mulch the garden, mow grass, pull weeds. Oops, getting a little carried away there. So I mowed the grass yesterday, used the grass clippings to mulch the garden. Put on Dio-earth to kill whatever has been eating my green bean and beet leaves. OOOOOH, that took me all afternoon. Water, I need some water. Today after church I will be fencing in our strawberry patch and putting an electric wire on top to keep the raccoons out of the berries. I hate picking berries with raccoon hair on them. I really, really dislike those critters. Oh well I am not getting the fence up so I will say, bye, bye :-D
They keep saying it is going to rain, but my yard needs water. Foggy and cold most mornings. Today it was into the 70's for a few moments. Feels sultry like a storm is moving in.
My step daughter lives in Austin. She said it is very dry there also. Hope you are not close to the wild fires that where in Texas. Will be pray that you get some rain sent your way. It's hard to imagine other area's of the country being so dry and others being flooded out. P
Too be honest "dry" is a relative word. Ours is a cool, damp dry that brings out the slugs when it is cloudy :-? . How do you keep the garden going when the condensation is only enough to dampen the streets not the garden soil? It is one of those mornings and I am watering the backyard and tossing slugs to the fir trees if I don't step on them first. shock: bare feet )
We had a whopper of a thunderstorm here last night! Loud cracking thunder, and lots of lightening lighting up the sky! A total of 3" in the gauge. Our sweet old senior doggy Missy, is very scared of thunder, so she was up pacing and we were up consoling her. It's too wet to work this morning, so I' am hoping for a bit of a snooze to catch up... We have had rain showers every day for a while now, I wish it would dry out. The folks just to the east of us are flooded. Very sad.
