Still cloudy with a gentle breeze from the north east temp 17c feels like 19c. We've got a yellow warning for thunderstorms from 12pm to 12pm tomorrow, they always pass us by.
On the BBC site @Logan it's not quite so bad , but not sure which one is correct.....can't believe any forecast really can we. It says the warning started at midday up your way and ends tonight at 11:59pm. We had a warning all of last night and it was quite bad, there were a few lightening hits here in the South, including a Care Home. I hope it's not as bad for you this evening.
Yes you're right @Oreti Can't believe any forecast and thanks we haven't had anything, not much rain also. Hope everything is ok with you?
Now outside temperature on the dry bulb is 30°C (86°F) and on the wet bulb it's 28°C (82°F) - Humidity 85%, and Dew Point 27°C (80°F). Atmospheric pressure is 1009 mBars. It's midnight now, and I've returned from my jogging. So below are the views of my area. This below is my beach right outside my home. View is basically me looking towards the South, (the Arabian Sea / Indian Ocean). Those lights you see in the distance over the sea are fishing boats. Now (below) I've turned towards West, and have started my jogging routine. Where I am at is called SeaView Beach. And those lights you see in the distance is where that mall is, (that area is called Clifton) - Beyond which even further are the lights of the main Karachi Harbor, (Kimari & Manora areas). Heatwave of the way is now thankfully gone. And moisture filled breeze from the ocean is now cooling things down. So in the picture below I am now getting closer to Clifton area. And as you can see, Karachi harbor can now clearly be identified. This below in sight (tall buildings) is the commercial area where that mall is. Here (below) I am at Clifton beach now, and Karachi harbor is now even more clearly seen Now I needed to get on dry land, as this area of the beach is not safe during night time, (as it has quicksand). So now I got on the road, where smack in the middle is a McDonald's drive through, (freaking eyesore to be honest)... A stone throw away distant from this is KFC, which in my opinion is yet another eyesore on the beach, (sigh)... Now I kept on jogging, and so passed a few plant nurseries. Since there is no scorching sunlight and heat of the day - My jogging still didn't make me tired. Here (below) is when I finally reached the commercial area in Clifton. Home is now a mile behind me towards the East. And these pictures below are of that same mall at night. The mall! And so from here I now turned 180° and started my jogging towards the East - Heading back home. On the way back, there is an option to rent a dune buggy and just drive towards home. But I said no thanks, and simply jogged my way back home - Thus completing my workout. All thankfully without the merciless heat of the day.
S-H Really enjoy the pix you are sharing …very nice to see . Like traveling to another country on my iPad.
Thank you! I feel exactly the same when I see all the beautiful pictures other members upload over here.
And I see monsoon season approaching towards Karachi on satellite, (exactly as I had predicted it would)... It's still sunny outside right now. But I think by midday the situation might change... This same weather system has caused havoc in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia & the United Arab Emirates - So now it's moving into my territory, let's see what happens next. Below are pictures of the Saudi Arabian capital city of Riyadh, and Dubai in UAE - Literally unprecedented flooding due to unimaginable amount of rainfall. And these are desert countries!!! So they only use to get a few drops as rain in a year Yet look at them now! So this right here dear members, is climate change - Now just try telling these people that climate change is a hoax... Now this weather system is heading my way.
Good morning all, drizzle and light winds temp 10c to 11c Precipitation 44% Sunrise 5.32 Sunset 20.38
It was bright and sunny just an hour ago. But now it's starting to become overcast. But I'm ready for it, come what may! All cars are fully fueled up too. And I'm upgrading the wipers of my favorite 4x4. As I got a wiper motor of a truck, (made sure it would fit in the same housing). The old motor I'll use for the rear windscreen, and install 2 wipers on it. While the front windscreen will now get these made to order triple wipers in each arm - Not fully made yet, but I'm working on it... Everything else is ready too, in case I get to experience the same fate as the residents of Dubai and Riyadh... Gumboots - Check! Umbrella - Check! Lifejacket - Check! Rain coat - Check! Newly made survival/gardening/fighting tool - Check! Other essentials also: Waterproof transparent pouch to keep smartphone dry, (for underwater photography) - Check!
