So excited, ...we've been forecast rain for later on. ..Perfectly timed to water in all the new residents in the pots and borders. Still a bit of sunshine at the moment.
Today was a lovely day. I wasn't able to spend much time outside. I was sorting stuff, keep vs neighborhood yard sale vs sell on line vs throw away. Here was one view, on the road, on the way back. There was no traffic but I pulled over anyway to enjoy for a moment. The volcano is partly hidden by clouds - it's really only one peak with a large caldera. It is the beautiful maiden, Loowit. The Klikitat people call her Louwala-Clough, which means "smoking or fire mountain". The Cowlitz and Yakima people call her "Lawetlat'la", roughly translated as "the smoker"). The maiden Loowit was very beautiful, The two sons of the chief of the gods - Pahto and Wy'east - fought over her, creating a huge mess. Villages were destroyed, the great stone bridge over the great river (we call it the Columbia River ) was destroyed, and Wy'East became the volcano we call Mt. Hood, while Pahto became the volcano we call Mt. Adams. @Pacnorwest recently posted an update about what happens when Loowit becomes very annoyed. Frankly, if I was a beautiful maiden named Loowit or Louwala-Clough, and people insisted on referring to me as British Naval Officer, Alleyne Fitzherbert, who was the ‘Baron St. Helens’, I might get annoyed too. Today's weather, no rain, blue skies with fluffy clouds, high 70 with low 51. Such a nice day!
Glad to hear you had a busy but nice day and took the time to share a beautiful pic of Mt.Hood. It just towers over the land below for miles. On a clear day I can see it from the coastal northwest of Oregon from where it stands in Washington state near Daniel.

...Still bone dry , the rain never happened. Checking back a year ago today we had a high of 26C !! This morning the sun is shining but unfortunately it's heat is a lot lower than a year ago.

Sunny off and on for most of the day. I didn't get home until 3pm from a lunch catch up in the pub with a friend but it was so sunny I decided to load up the washing machine.......and it's all dry now on the line!! Brilliant. Currently 16C.
