We are having a big wind and rain storm over here at the moment. I looked down into the leafy park and saw two branches had broken off from the wind’s strength.

Can't believe it! July sixth, and we have the house windows open, the temperature at 8 a.m. was 73 degrees with a light wind. Unprecedented? No, miraculous!:smt109

@Oreti so true how extreme weather events affects so many countries , hardships and suffering ,floods. I’ve never seen anything like this climate change in my lifetime.
Your garden pics are impressive. Everything is in great shape so well maintained.

@marlingardener I agree temps were 69f this morn.
Texas has had its share of unprecedented storms for months.
    How you doin?

@Sjoerd Keep us posted on the wind storm :fingerscrossed: you’ll be ok. Stay safe .

I got up early and watered everything that I could. I think that, as long as they have enough water, a lot of summer crops will flourish in the heat. My nasturtiums's leaves are kind of blanched so I moved them to the shade.

So far, so good with the house retrofits. It's staying cool inside without turning on a/c.

@Daniel W Nice to hear all is ok around your home and garden. All the new insulation and other additions are making a big difference to controlling the extreme heat we are exposed to this week. Sending good vibes the new siding will be complete soon. Take care-stay cool.

This extreme heat is a real shame in so many ways. I am happy to report not using AC yet with temps over 99 degrees. All the trees are doing their job by shading the home and garden. Keeping everything watered is essential to managing and controlling extreme heat in the garden during climate change.

@Logan great news rain for your garden…lots of your flowers and plants are happy now !:smt041

    Thank goodness for that!

I think it's your kind treatment of gnomes. They have ways to influence weather patterns.

Another scorcher is on for tomorrow. It’s ok here staying inside, it’s like an oven outside during the day. It cools off by 9pm.
