Now at last, we are getting a monsoon downpour every other day. Temperatures are back to what we here consider as a cool summer, (low 30s°C). However it is difficult to forget the suffering everyone had to endure, during an almost 3 month long record breaking heatwave. And the people who died from heatstroke during that, one of whom I knew well - Their faces too now come flashing in front of my eyes. Also can't forget how I myself too almost had a heatstroke, as I was about to get robbed during that merciless heatwave. When I was changing a flat tyre of my car, (which I'm sure those thieving street urchins caused, just so they could have the opportunity to rob me at gunpoint) - Only reason why their plan failed, was because I too was armed. So when they saw that I also was carrying, they disappeared. However the heat of June 22nd, the longest and thus hottest day of the year, didn't vanish. So that episode also, during 46°C of heat, is pretty difficult to forget...
Oreti how welcoming and such a pretty table design with your beautiful garden in full swing in the background. Looks like a picture in a magazine. Yummmm ginger bear is the best. Cheers back at ya.

Thank you @Pacnorwest, it's one of my favourite places to sit when it's too hot to work outside. We could be in for for some thunder later..it looks like we are right on the edge of the predicted storm track.....but I wouldn't mind really as it would be great for our garden.
We managed to miss walking in the thunder and a couple of short but extremely heavy showers this afternoon. We were visiting my brother in his care home so sat it out by joining in with a resident's birthday celebrations ....and enjoying a nice slice of chocolate cake. All dry and sunny now and very humid.
@Daniel W can you believe how extreme temps have become over the past few years. Not to mention the forest wildfires in PNW. Never had them to this extreme. Mabe one or two every 10 years. Now it’s dozens every year and closer to homes. Stay cool and safe .. How do climate change and wild forest fires relate. http://www.climatehubs.usda.gov/hub...ange-and-wildfire-idaho-oregon-and-washington
