S-H that was quite a story . Heat stroke can be fatal in summers here too, with zero rain for months, not to mention our severe winter storms . Your story reminded me of the opposite weather conditions cold freezing weather, like the blizzard conditions we have in winters . Have you experienced a snow / ice blizzard? -15F below 0F with wind chill . Winters can be just as brutal as over heating in hot temps, especially if the humidity is high. The trick is to stay inside out of intense heat and cold. It always amazes me how plants can survive so many weather extremes.
Good morning all, light rain showers and a gentle breeze temp 8c to 14c Precipitation 27% Sunrise 6.34 Sunset 19.48
At the moment it's stopped raining and a gentle breeze from the west south west temp 11c feels like 10c. Got another flood alert, there's a stream down the spinney and it's up a lot, but it won't affect us unless it floods the paths.
I fully agree with @Pacnorwest's post ..all weather extremes hold equal dangers and threats to life....we just have to learn to adapt our lifestyles and daily routines to cope with them. @S - H we certainly can appreciate your temps!! My hubby's home country has areas which have the hottest recorded earth temps in the world, as recorded by NASA's satellite data. We very recently spoke with our family out there ( not in that hot area as nobody can live there!!) and they too share your temps. I love our weather here, we get to to see and appreciate all the beauty of our 4 seasons. We also take the peak day times in summer very seriously too as I have unfortunately experienced skin cancer 20 years ago ( non sun exposure related). But we do ,in our own way, experience extremes in our weather. 2 years ago we had a very hot and dry Summer, it may not have been a match to your temps but nevertheless to us over here and to what our bodies are use too it caused a significant danger to some. Likewise our Winters are wetter and we are now seeing more significant flooding....so while you might envy our ' drizzle ' those that have lost homes , precious items and past memories would very strongly disagree. We've had a constant 'stream ' of run off rain water from the saturated farmland hills flowing down one side of our lane for the last couple of months...non threatening thankfully to us but nevertheless a sign of the changes in our weather system. And don't get me talking of the pain in my joints this Winter that has been made worse by all the dampness!! I think it can be safely said that we all in our own individual ways are exposed to negative weather related issues at times unfortunately.
The sun did come out but it's gone back in again. With a gentle breeze from the west south west temp 13c feels like 12c.
Good morning all, light rain and a moderate breeze temp 11c to 15c Precipitation 80% Sunrise 6.32 Sunset 19.50
A bit of overnight dampness but our day should be dry with occasional glimpses of sunshine. High of 16C with an overnight low of 12C.
The weather this month is like riding a rollercoaster. I’m not complaining , enjoying the cooler weather while it lasts. I know the summer has been predicted to be another hot over the top scorching heat setting records again. Especially since the oceans are already warm for the season .
Good morning all, clear sky and a moderate breeze temp 13c to 17c Precipitation 0% Sunrise 6.29 Sunset 19.51 No rain is expected today
Partly cloudy with the sun coming up and a moderate breeze from the south south east temp 14c feels like 14c.
