When do you usually get all your x-mas shopping done by?

I am with you on the gift card idea. You can't go wrong with a gift card. I like that they have a lot of personal styles of cards to choose from now too, to fit personalities.

 

I haven't really started either . I wanted to do only gift cards ... that great with DS and DIL, but DD said 'what'?. At 32 she still likes the thrill of opening packages. She will still get a gift card, but I will probably get all three of them, something they can open that will actually be a surprise. I like shopping on-line as well. Living in a small town you are rather limited to good selections. :-|

 

Ha! Just wrap a gift card in a big box... That would be a laugh. Did you know you can even bu personalized gift cards online with your own pictures and custom text now?

 

My husband loves gift card wrapping. Chances are the recipient will work for at least ten minutes to find the card inside the very big box with several smaller boxes in there, and an assortment of gift wrapped toilet paper rolls, bulbs, fire wood, sweets and such.

 

Droopy, that is tooo funny. I bet it's even funner to watch them scramble thru the box, huh. I enjoy gift cards enough for allowing me to avoid the mall chaos, but that is another idea of how to enjoy a gift card.
Who says gift cards can't be as fun as unwrapping presents. haha.

Haha. O yea droopy. It's going to be a Christmas filled with tricks and treats... Have you all noticed the different types of gift cards in the grocery stores? It great they have a store for every person on your list.

I'm done. I hade to take my mother out to do some extreme sports, also called shopping, yesterday, and managed to come up with ideas for the last ones. It feels good! If I go out to buy anything now, it's just for supplement or fun.

 

I like to wrap gift cards in layers too! I usually tape it to something heavy and oddly shaped and then wrap in many layers of paper. It usually takes my niece about 10 minutes to get to the card!
I've just barely started my shopping. I'm going to do some online next I think. I just hate crowds and I'm also in a small town which, as kuntrygal said, makes me limited in selection.

 

SIL always gets some sort of gift card. Its like receiving a free shopping trip to her and she loves to shop. My brother is more apt to forget to bring the gift cards with him so its better to get him stuff. My BF hates shopping so no gift cards for him.
I live and work in a small town we have a few (including mine) shops that have great stuff. Dont completely rule out small shops. You might just be suprised.

 

I've bought some of the best gifts from our small shops! I always try to shop locally and keep the money in town. Unfortunately though, I have trouble finding specific items and have to do some shopping online or at the mall. Believe me, with the price of gas I would rather do all my shopping close to home!

 

No way, never underestimate what you can find in small shops. Sometimes I have found that smaller shops can charge more since they know that nothing else is around for miles. I've noticed that near the non-city areas. I dont think the major grocery stores in our areas do too bad on their prices.
