I saw those tracks, which do indeed look similar...however, we have no squirrels in my part of the country at all.
If you have weasel or mink that would be my guess !! But,, going back and reading the approx. size,,would either be a young one or something in the rat family. Rats love gardens too and can dig and eat the seed and young plants.
Oh Mart...rats sure do love gardens. Our complex has a team to keep the rat census at bay. It crossed my mind that it possible could have been a rat; however, there were no tracks over by the feeding station. There were not enough tracks present that day and not enough clarity to be sure I thought. I still think that the most likely is a weasel. I have seen weasels on the complex in the past. My garden neighbour and I stood leaning on our hoes one summer afternoon and watched a mother move 8 little ones from one place to another.
