I was looking for a gardening forum and found this one to be friendly and helpful. I get to talk about my garden and no one yawns. :D Then I got into logging my plant list...that has been so helpful to keep track from year to year and see what's growing or not. Looking at other experienced gardeners gardens really opened up my world of plants...did I mention this is a really friendly place. :stew1: I love this forum.

I've been here about 8 years and I'm not really sure why I joined. I think I met Eileen first and really enjoyed talking to her. I was on another forum and all they did was tell me I wasn't doing things right. Encouragement? This forum is great. I miss some of the people who have dropped out but some wonderful people have come to replace them so I come back every day to share my garden experiences, funny, sad, happy and joyful.

I joined because I thought it would be fun and insightful to exchange gardening ideas, stories both good and bad regarding our planting / harvesting.
I find all Stewers are rather like myself in that they literally love growing their own food.
I find I can learn a lot from all my fellow gardeners. I have certainly been thankful for advice from many in my doubtful days. Thank you all.

I joined garden stew after being dissatisfied with another garden website. I really enjoy GS and wish I had more time to participate.

The participants here are exceeding kind and polite.

They are also very encouraging. Suggestions and personal experience are related when questions are asked. There doesn't seem to be and absolute with these folks when it comes to gardening thing. You might be a complete novice and yet have idea's that gardening veterans will glom onto here, with credit given where credit is due.

I happened upon Gardenstew quite by chance, when googling "gardening forums".
I completely agree with all previous replies, the Stew-community is like a big family, kind, polite, very helpful and supportive.
(This is such a breath of fresh air compared to most forums, where a lot of ranting & raving seems to go on about nothing, quite shocking )
I'm very glad to have found the Stew! :stew1:

I was a member at Garden Talk, but BHG closed down all of their forums, and moved some to FB. I had already quit FB because of other issues and did not care to return. Some of the members were already members here and recommended this as a nice gardening site. So, here I am. I also belong to many other forums. Some are for gardening, some are more diverse but include gardening along with political/religious discussions which is enjoyable too.

I joined because of what happened at a music forum. I met someone there that was growing plants and he started a thread about it. it was really cool but he quit the forum and I couldn't find anyone online that liked to talk about gardens. So I googled Garden Forums and this looked like the best one so I joined. Btw, this forum is really awesome! :-D It has tons of info and really cool members too.
