S, I have no idea on the comfrey. Someone at one of my farmers markets brought it to the market and I bought it.

GP, I have done nothing with it as of yet but Sjoerd had mentioned making fertilizer with it in a post LOOOOONG ago and I thought I would try it sometime, I just needed to get the comfrey started some...day.

Well rotted manure will become lombric compost.

Oh Growing pains....another english expression for the old manure is, "well-rotted" manure.

We continue to rake & rake & rake here. We had a good summer with lots of rain yet also lots of sun. I swear the trees loved it & put out twice the number & size of leaves. I do exaggerate but only a bit.

Anyway, we are throwing some leaves on the perennial beds & the rest in the compost bin. I get 3-4 large buckets of used coffee grounds a week (my lugging arms are getting strong) & I am mixing them with the leaves. Makes good compost! I still love the 3 bay compost bin I made a couple of years back. So easy to turn the compost.
