Yay for you Ronni. I am so thankful we live in a day and age where something like this is "fixable". You are beautiful! don't let you or anybody else tell you otherwise.!

I'm not squeamish, so I looked. It's not as bad as I was expecting Ronni! You will heal up in no time. I'm just glad that they got it all out. I hope it's not painful.

I hope your surgery heals as fast as mine has. Mine is nearly healed after 10 days. This is only temporary, and you will soon be as good as new again. I am glad they got all of the cancer. God bless, and I am keeping you in my prayers.

I had no idea you'd had surgery. For the same thing or something similar?

Thanks for the info from you both. It's very reassuring. I was not expecting the degree of redness, or swelling that I work up with this morning. My eye was also glued closed with crusty stuff, which soaking with warm cloths took care of. The pain is far less than I expected, and what's more annoying than anything is the feeling of sand in my eye, and also a weird feeling like I have a hair strand in there too. That part's not fun.

Here's what it looks like this morning........and again, I've left lots of space for those who don't care to see the graphic image.

Ronni, that isn't bad looking at all! Bless your heart, you have been a trooper through all of this. Take care, don't do anything to delay the healing, and know that we are all hoping and praying for you!

    Hi Ronni,

Sorry your eye is so sore. It will heal up and feel better soon. Give it some rest, and maybe some warm compresses on it.

I had surgery on my hand with the copperhead bite. I saw my surgeon today. It was 11 days ago that he did the surgery to remove the necrotic tissue from the copperhead bite. It is probably 98% healed up, and looks many times better. He is very pleased and happy for me. My doctor is from India, so he KNOWS about snake bites! They have cobras and kraits that are deadly there. He said he is very afraid of snakes, and he and his wife have a toddler.

I will try to post the pics of the surgery he had to do to save my finger and hand this evening. I did post pics of my hand and arm before he did the surgery.

    ((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))) from me Ronni.

Oh that's right! You had the snake bite and it got necrotic, yes?

I'm feeling better this morning. At least I didn't wake with my eye crusted shut. It's kinda gooey, but I prefer that! I think it's a little less swollen, though it's hard to tell. Paige thinks so too. When she saw me for the first time this morning, she said "Well, everything looks just a little.....less, somehow." I think she's right. Just a tiny bit less swelling, a tiny bit less redness, it doesn't look quite as angry and raw.

Before the surgery, I figured I'd be back at work today. But yesterday I contacted my clients and told them that it was more of an ordeal than I'd planned for given that there was more cancer than they suspected, so I wasn't coming in. I think I'll give myself the week. I don't even get the stitches out till next Wednesday, so I figure I can give myself a bit more recovery time before I step back into work mode.

You eye is looking good to me, Ronni. How often must you go in for follow-up checks?

Ronni, take the week off if you can manage it. You need the rest, and your face and eye will do lots of healing in that week. It just takes a bit of time. I did not get a chance to post those pics last night like I had hoped.

If you happen to have some of that heal-all plant around, make a bit of tea with some, and use a clean paper towel or tissue to dab around that area on your face now and then. The scientific name of it is Prunella vulgaris L.

There is a picture of it so it is easy to ID. It is very soothing on a raw wound and does not burn at all. It is a common herb, and grows all over. Funny how I had never noticed it until a year or so ago.

    That is very red Ronni,

They took my eye out, sorted some musles and it still was'nt that red.

Don't go out and get cold in it.

Use only boiled water to get the crusty off, cool it a bit first.

Don't use the cloth for anything else or you may get cross Infection.

Have they given you drops at all?

    Good luck, be patient.
