Yes I got the monkey blood treatment but for wasp sting it was wet tobacco or Okra flowers if Okra was in season. Also for sore throat coal oil and sugar you know ingesting petroleoum products had to be good for you.
My mom treated ringworm by burning a piece of linen paper then putting the oily remains on the spot. Then again, it was just a few years ago that I had a friend with goats, I would go over there and get a quart of milk right from the strainer. She was usually cooking up some goat yoghurt or straining the world's best goat cheese. Grandma made batter bread every other day, because her hands had no joints left due to arthritis, and she couldn't knead it. Hm, I'm not that old, guess we're just a tougher stock in the woods out here, lol!
Coal Oil lamps were used when I was in school hard to see with them now guees we were use to seeing with them.I never heard of the okra flower thing.
