I can empathise, Cayu. When we had our bathroom done, it was a tiring and somewhat drawn-out process. Hang in there.
Thank you Cayuga Morning, don't know if I'll do anymore this year, it all depends on if I've got to make some room in the freezer for something else.
Yes, it's best to be absolutely certain what you want before getting an estimate. Any later changes are classed as "extras" and it's where some builders make a lot of money.
Make sure that you keep a eye on them they will try to get away with anything. We had our bathroom done out, wanted the panel on the side of the bath with tiles and the wood that was going to support them wasn't put on property and had to say about it before the other guy tiled it.
We are off this am for a consult with the tile store. We need to have tiles rounded for edge pieces and need to choose tile for the floor.
Found myself a small job. I've had this chairside table for about twenty years (from the days when things were made in "real wood" not Contiplas or mdf). But it only has one shelf. This was fine, until I started to want to keep my laptop under it. I've six remote controls. Those for the DVD/CD player and VHS player (I've a lot of film noir on VHS) I leave under the TV. The other four are for the Virgin Tivo box, two Humax tunerr/recorder/players and the remote for the TV. So the top of the table was always a mess. I tried to find on-line, another table with two shelves, but had no success. The only solution was to add one to the original table. So I went to the local woodyard this morning with the measurements of the shelf and got them to cut a piece of walnut laminated chipboard (the darkest colour they had) to the same size as the shelf. I had to cut matching grooves in it like the original shelf that sit on pins screwed into the legs and put four small screws in the legs to replicate the pins, for the new shelf. Then just a case of using some iron-on laminate for the bare edges and trim it off with a Stanley knife. Took about half an hour in the end. Job done.
I am in the sick bed having come back from Hospital in one piece. Had a burst vein in my Ankle that really was only a small one, but boy it was horrendous, at the time..Wednesday morning it was... . Just being waited on hand and foot..cant say I mind that for just a while though.. I am ok as long as I do as I am told...
Hi @DianneWoollie how are you feeling now? Hubby got the all clear to start doing things again but gradually.
Last Saturday I sort of stumbled when i was going past barley. Didn't feel anything until Sunday, now my right foot is hurting and can't walk well but still do the walks. I've done it before so i should know better so i know that it's not serious just try and take it easy for a while.
It'll be a quiet day today because of the rain, although I might do a bit of "housework." Because of her MS there are several specific things my wife would like to be able to do around the house, but they're a bit too much. So I do what I can. I'll vacuum the stairs after lunch, as she can't manage those. I've just stuck my laundry in the washing machine, then it'll go in the dryer and then I'll put it away. No big deal, as I put it all on the same programme. She likes to do her own, as she has to separate it into different washes on different programmes. I can't be doing with that. But I'll fit in the stairs between what I'm doing now, watching Liverpool play Burnley, showing on TV, then there's the finals of "The Hundred" cricket to follow. With the highlights of the women's open golf this evening. I'll find a bit of time to fit in playing my leccy piano.
