Thank you Oreti I saw them they look very effective. Will look in to it. Right now I might try a 5 gallon bucket with water and sunflower seeds floating on top with a 2x4 as a ladder to the bait. Just afraid they can jump outta the bucket even with water. I will try it for a day or two and see what happens Then try those rat traps you found see how that goes, and peanut butter it is the bait. Every idea is always worth a try. Just don’t know what to do with them once caught. Maybe start a little squirrel cemetery. Than you very much.
It is a cunundrum . I set some bucket traps and I secretly don’t want it to work but I also do want to deal with all the damage to several trees and shrubs. I’ve tried everything to deter them from the area. Spraying with squirrel away. Peppermint spray you name it. This has taken a toll on my garden. It will be costly to have trees and shrubs removed . Already this year the squirrels have killed my Italian Cyprus I have had in the garden for over 25 years. It was only 2’ tall when I planted it. It’s now 30 feet. Have to hire someone to take one tree down that size is 5-600 dollars. below Pic of Italian Cyprus. You can see the white corner on the left of my greenhouse . Squirrels have tunneled all the way around this tree and my greenhouse.
Clay_22 . So true. Ornery little knuckeheads. It’s exhausting. I still have a few tricks up my sleeve.
@Logan Oh yes I like her… we are all in a hot mess some where out in our gardens. Garden rooms are another way to set up ‘Garden Vignettes’. small arrangements with combination plantings and or other garden implementations to add details representing a theme or commemorating a person, place or thing . She always has great ideas. Thank you.
@Logan that video reminds me of adding a tid bit of history … and a funny story …In Oregon there’s a city named Beaverton. And sports teams, like the Beavers. The little buggers are always blocking a near by river that over flows and blocks roads until a trapper has to come and relocate them. How the city was named? The Native Americans occupied a village located on the Beaverton and Fanno creeks that was called Chakeipi. Although the name meant "place of the beaver," early settlers called the village Beaverdam and later changed it to Beaverton. Alrighty now we have had a good chuckle back to work.
Yes they have to be careful where the beavers can go. That was a interesting story Pacnorwest. I haven't watched all of this, I've been doing so much today i fell asleep watching it.
