    Don't let them bloom, disbudding young rose plants.

    Hats

    I always wear either a baseball cap or a cadet cap. I feel more comfortable not exposing my bare head outdoors. Cadet caps are more comfortable, due to lack of a rivet in the top.

    Thanks @Logan for sharing an excellent video about rose propagation. Jason makes great points and shares a tremendous amount of expertise.

    I neglected my rose cuttings a bit, and they did bloom once. So I know which ones they are, at least. I'll prune them back more, in early Spring, to give better branching.

    Speaking of hats. A lot of peops wear baseball type hats and in my world we wear cowgirl/boy hats when riding horses & in the horse group meeting everyone has a special dress cowboy felt hat to always wear in many colors.
    It’s a daily occurrence when out mowing or gardening I always wear a baseball type hat. Of course some are velvet others have sayings and most protect my mop from the sun , rain and dust. Yet no one wears dress hats as a part of a daily routine .
    When I think of dress hats mostly worn with suits I think of Laural and Hardy who used their fancy dress hats in their comedy routines as an expression of the characters they portrayed.

    Glad that you liked it Daniel, i usually cut back my hybrid teas this time of year because of wind rock over the winter, but I'm going to try his method. I let my rose cuttings bloom and they do turn out that way.

    I remember the later Mannheim Steamroller version.

    In 1968 I was limited in my exposure to pop culture and popular music. It was mostly Lawrence Welk, church music, and a few others. My escape was, I was a page at the local public library, but that wouldn't add music exposure. Books - another story, literally!

    Here is that library building, still standing but now a museum.

    I was a weird kid. Walking home from school (about two miles), I would read library books while walking. I became so absorbed in the books, there were times that I ran into trees or parked cars. Typically they were books by rebels such as Kurt Vonnegut, Pierre Salinger, Günter Grass, Jerzy Kosinski, etc. Or sci fi authors. Yes, an odd teenager indeed:whistling:

    By the time the Mannheim Steamroller version came out, I had seen more of the world than I can describe here. I was studying and sometimes listened to new age stuff, or classical, to help me focus. Sung lyrics were too distracting. Another favorite was "A Whiter Shade of Pale".

    @Daniel W …what a beautiful building…

    Oh…yes …A Whiter shade of pale., by Procol Harum a British rock group. Another favorite I remember that one too.

    Sorry to hear you felt different me too. I was in Calif during all the rock groups & music of the 60’s and 70’s. What a time it was….The Eagles, Beach Boys, Sonny and Cher, Smothers Brothers , Moody Blues, The Doors, Creedence, Mommas & Papas and The Byrds .The Monkeys. So much more. Ok I’ll stop there . They all started out in LA.Calif. We got to see many of them early at the first night club in the U.S. Called The Whisky -a-go-go. And it’s still there…

    It was a great place for teenage me to work. I'm glad it's still standing.

    I was so out of the youth culture, I didn't realize until now that Whiter Shade of Pale was originally with lyrics:eek:. The version I had was David Lanz, in piano.

    Actually, I like this one better than David Lanz'
