I've made relatives pretty cheesed at me, but DH & I made a point of having lots of holiday times like that. The result is a 19 year old son who actually has some very special memories of the Christmas season (especially when the power used to go out every year around that time and it was all woodstove-and-games by candlelight!) Totally worth dropping the busyness!
