prayerful start

Category: Sowing Seeds | Posted: Tue Mar 22, 2011 12:20 am

Well it's the first day of spring. And I must confess I jumped the gun and planted a few things last weekend, mostly herbs. This weekend we've potted more herbs, roma and pink brandywine tomatoes, sweet and green onions & garlic. I've got cilantro and morning glory seedlings peeking out of their egg cartons. I just started sweet peppers and bell peppers in their egg cartons. I have a couple of blueberry plants (dwarf tophat) sitting out waiting to be planted midweek in some big pots.

Last year we planted a few things in a raised bed and I grinned and awed by God each time I saw how much they grew when I watered them before or after work. This year a lot of our plants are in pots and I plan on enjoying both the food as well as the flowers I'm planting. I enjoy that working with the plants brings me closer to my God.
