Mostly testing

Thought I would say hello. We are still in winter with a storm predicted for Tuesday and 18" on the ground. I am still waiting for the last of the wiseman to resurface. He has been buried since December 5th but I cannot dig for him as he is ceramic and might shatter if I were to score a direct hit. Hopefully he will survive my neglect.
Stay well everyone, spring is not far off.

Well Hello
I have been growing flowers and vegetables most of my life. My father's father was a big gardener, he loved his plants but had little use for his grandchildren so I did not learn much from him but remember his beautiful gardens. My love of the outdoors combined with love of flowers steered me to gardening. Perennials are my passion and have more of them than I can keep track of. Lilies abound in my yard, all three kinds well maybe four now, not sure if the trumpets are becoming a variety of their own. Utilizing eight distinct garden locations in the yard as well as small plantings around the house and shed, the color and variety that now exist make me smile. There are very few bare spaces but that does not stop me from buying and trading for plants. My goal is to have flowers close to year round which would be a feat in Maine. Any suggestions about early spring or late fall/early winter flowers would be appreciated.
At present moment the only thing growing for me are my house plants, mostly the flowering kind. These include an orchid, arthurian, several peace plants, african violets, amaryllis, ficus, banana plant, a palm like plant with green ball like flowers, several poinsettias, variegated spider, a christmas cactus and a pilea. I have had some failures on the house plant scene but I think the plants were diseased when they arrived. I have done in a cyclamin and a scheffluer (sp?).
Well, enough for now, I am starting to bore even me. Have a wonderful day. diene
