Molly had a rough dayOur golden retriever, Molly, had a rough day. She had surgery to remove a cyst growing inside her eyelid. While she was under anesthesia they also cleaned her teeth, aspirated another cyst and took x-rays of her hips to check her dysplasia. While she was recovering from the anesthesia she awoke & bit down and snapped the tube in her throat so they had to use forceps to remove the tube. She came home with 6 medications and one of those "lampshade" collars. She is sleeping it off right now. She is suppose to wear that collar for two weeks until she gets her stitches out. She can have it off if we are watching her. I think we will be spending a lot of time watching her. OOOOOH No! Poor Molly! That wasn't a rough day it was a terrible day. Oscar and Felix send her get well wishes and we all hope she will be back chasing golfers soon.
Oh my! Poor baby. I just can't stand the thought of an animal hurting and in pain. Hope Molly heals quickly and pain free. I know she will get lots of love and attention. Please keep us posted!
I hope she heals fast. It hurts to see an animal not feeling well and not being able to help them. Give her lots of hugs from us. dooley
Oh poor Molly! I'm like the others who have already posted comments...I hurt when I see an animal hurt!!:(
Awwwwww, I hope she gets better real soon. Our Lucky dog had ear surgery a while back and had to wear one of those, she was really a trooper and learned quickly how to eat and come up the steps with it on.
I;m so sorry Molly had to have surgery.I can't help but hurt for her.I hope she manages that collard on her neck ok.
Collar :):)I'm thinking food I guess.
Thankfully the worst is now over for Molly and she should make a complete recovery as long as she doesn't rub or scratch at her eye. Our old Labrador had to wear one of those bucket collars too at one time. He got so used to having it on that when the time came to remove it he felt lost without it!!
Oh dear Gail... what a chain of events!
Thank you all for your caring thoughts and kind words. She has been very sleepy from pain medication and the lasting effects of anesthesia. During the night she managed to get out of her collar but did not scratch her eye. Yes, Sjoerd she will be Molly-coddled!
