Blogging my gardening effort ...first time ever! Why now? Well, I need to channel my excitement somewhere today. The 'big' reason for the excitement? Well, just found out that the three little plants that are in the front yard, that I keep staring at everyday, that lived through the snow so far and the ones' that I couldn't recollect what I planted there might be ...**drum rolls**... BLANKET FLOWERS. No, no, they are not my favorite flowers (shhh.. I didn't just say that) but the very fact that with all the sowing indoors, transplanting and babying them of last summer might have yielded something has me all happy :) I am not even certain that they are THE ones. But suddenly I remembered that I did experiment with some of these plants last season. Then I looked up online (thank you, Google) and the plant do look like the one's in my yard. Will have to take pictures and post for my Gardenstew friends to identify during daytime (why do I get wiser at night?) Now my fingers are crossed that these little ones do survive the remainder of the winter months and prove me right. These joins my 'watch list' of Hollyhocks,Lilies,Tulips and Geraniums. Who else is ready for spring? Here are the pictures : http://s156.photobucket.com/albums/t9/tinaK_bucket/My%20watch%20list%20of%2009/ Last edited: Wed Jan 14, 2009 12:22 am This blog entry has been viewed 529 times

Well Tina, I'm excited for you...and I know the rest will be too. The way that you write transfers your enthousiasm and it's a good feeling.
Isn't it great when we find something in the garden that we didn't expect? I love it when plants that I think have died or 'not taken' suddenly appear and come back and looking healthy. I hope your babies make it through to spring Tina and reward you with lots of beautiful flowers.
Congrats on your new blog Tina, you will love it! And I'll be reading.
