and now, bees.Well, I had an opportunity this Friday night, and I took it. My cousin was called to remove a honeybee swarm and he asked if I would like to tag along. He used to keep bees and we have had many and varied discussions on the subject over the years. Of course, I said yes. We were able to remove the swarm, and no one was stung. As he was deciding what best to do with the new swarm, he asked " would you like to keep them?" "HUH?". I don't know anything about beekeeping! He assured me it was safe, not too difficult and he had "'bout everything you're gonna need", so I said yes. I now have a hive box and bees. This is going to be interesting! Wow! You are brave! Good luck with your new swarm. Let us know how it goes.
Totally awesome for you! Having bees is a great experience.
I agree really brave.
new2: My neighbor had bees for years. They used to bumble their way into my garden, pollinating as they went. We have a pool, and I would heard them buzzing around various bushes as I swam. Once I found out that our neighbor had a hive, it kind of seemed like they were her pets come visiting. Very nice.
We hadn't seen honey bees anywhere on our place in the couple years we have been here, so the last few days have been exciting. There is definitely a lot of buzzing around now, and my DH is excited for his garden! Login or register to leave a comment. |
